New Hire and Internal Promotions Announcement Guidelines Policy 6.036.2

Purpose

The Office of Human Resources is responsible for the employment process for all employees of SOWELA Technical Community College. The purpose of this policy is to promote a welcoming atmosphere for all new hires upon their employment with SOWELA; announce those who have been transferred or promoted from within the College; and ensure communication is happening throughout the Main Campus and Instructional Sites.

Scope and Applicability

This policy applies to all permanent full-time and part-time positions of the College, unless exempted by the Chancellor.

Policy Details

1. All announcements for full-time and part-time hires should be sent out via email to all employees within the first two weeks of the new hire's employment date.

2. Communication for internal transfers or promotions should be sent out via email to all employees within the first two weeks of the transfer/promotion date.

3. The emails should come from the Office of Human Resources. 4. All e-mailed announcements should include:

a. Name of new hire b. Major responsibilities c. Supervisor duties, if applicable d. Professional background e. Educational background f. Work contact information, including telephone number, e-mail address, and physical

location g. Supervisor's name
