|SUMMARY and ELCC |Two students who were special education were at a Disciplinary meeting with their parents. The two students |

|Element Addressed |stole a teachers car keys and took the car for a joy ride. The car was then crashed into a brick building. |

| |Along with school consequences, the juvenile justice system was involved as well. Both students were |

| |involved in the stealing and taking of the care. This manner had to be dealt with fairly even though one |

| |student was a star student through out the building and one was a terror through out the building. |

| REFLECTION |This was very hard. I had both students two years ago. One student was a great, kind hearted student who I |

| |felt was talked into the situation. The other student has been causing trouble at Belmont for multiple years|

| |and has had many suspensions under his belt. I had to act fairly and overlook my feelings in the situation. |

| |Both students were involved in the incident, both students needed to be punish. |

|Multiple Meetings |Student Support Team |Dr. LaMartina/Belmont Elementary |17/5.2 |P |5 hrs |

|from January to May | |School | | | |

|SUMMARY and ELCC |The Student Support Team’s job is to promote the success of all students. Students are referred to the team |

|Element Addressed |if they are in danger of failing, are a constant behavior problem or attendance problem. The team consists |

| |of administration, support staff, and the teacher. |

|REFLECTION |I attended multiple meetings to discuss many fourth grade students. During the meeting it was discovered |

| |that policy when enforcing grades, behavior and attendance were not being followed. If the teacher’s were to|

| |follow policy on how to handle these situations, most students would not be referred to this team. |

|SUMMARY and ELCC |Special Education meetings are to make sure that students with disabilities are treated in an ethical manner |

|Element Addressed |and are receiving a fair education. |

|REFLECTION |Being part of the special education team provided insight as an administrator. The administrator needs to |

| |make sure that the teachers are providing all the hours needed to meet that child’s plan. The principal |

|Artifact #9 |needs to also make sure that the parents are providing support to the team by taking the child to get tested,|

| |making sure medicine is being taken or even continuing an educational plan at home. |

|SUMMARY and ELCC |General Education teachers are required to know the Special Education laws. It is important for a general |

|Element Addressed |education teacher to know how to provide services for the special education children in their room. |

|REFLECTION |As a general education in an inclusion setting it is important to know how my special education students are |

| |going to receive their services and how I must follow specific guidelines when providing these services. |
