1798523-584835Payroll AdministratorClassificationNon-ExemptLocation Hollywood, MDSummary/Objective:Under general direction from the CFO, the payroll administrator is responsible for all tasks necessary to accomplish the organization’s multi-state payroll processing objectives with a high degree of confidentiality. This position requires an extremely detail orientated person with significant knowledge of payroll administration, including state and federal regulations. This position processes all payroll related time entry, tax deposits, reports, benefit deductions, W2s and audit document requests. RESPONSIBILITIES:Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Prepare and process bi-monthly payroll for multiple statesResolve payroll discrepancies and irregularitiesReconcile payroll to general ledgerPrepare payroll journal entriesResponsible for payroll systems maintenanceMaintain employee leave balances, benefit payroll deductions, and garnishmentsReview quarterly payroll tax reports for federal and multiple statesComply with local, state and federal payroll regulations and respond to questions and special requests from regulatory agenciesResearch laws and regulations regarding taxes and payroll withholding proceduresMaintain and administer 401k plan to include contributions and disbursementsEXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Solid understanding of federal and state wage and hour laws including payroll, taxes, withholding, deductions and garnishmentsHands-on experience in an accounting environmentSkilled in MS ExcelProficient utilization of Deltek Timekeeping, GCS or CostPointProficient with Paychex payroll systemThorough understanding of payroll processing, procedures, and payroll tax reportsAt least 3 years of experience processing payrollEDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:High school diplomaBachelor degree desired but not requiredCompetencies Analytical processing skillsDetail orientedCritical thinkingOrganization and project managementOral and written communication skills Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkFull-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as work requirements demand.TravelOccasional travel may be required for this position.
