Position: Forensic Scientist I
Salary Range: $60,369 - $68,225
General Responsibilities: The Forensic Scientist will be responsible for analyzing physical evidence, identifying body fluid stains from the evidence and performing DNA-STR analysis on the samples. In addition, the duties include testimony as an expert witness at criminal trials.
Minimum Qualifications: A Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology, Forensic Science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university; Coursework required by the Quality Assurance Standards For Forensic DNA Testing Laboratories (Genetics, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Statistics); At least two years of Forensic Biology casework experience including DNA-STR analysis. A Master of Science Degree in Biology, Forensic Science or a closely related field from an accredited college or university may be substituted for one year of casework experience.
