Job Title: Monthly Parking Examiner

Salary Range: $52,057- $69,664

Posting Period: Tuesday, December 1, 2020 – Monday, December 14, 2020 (Internal Posting)

Persons Eligible:

Current employees of the Philadelphia Parking Authority who have been in their current position for at least six months and have satisfactorily completed their probationary period for the position currently held. Applicants must meet the minimum requirements. Employees currently on the Excessive Use of Sick Leave list will not be considered for this position.

General Description:

The Monthly Parking Examiner is responsible for posting payments, auditing, and certifying revenue as well enforcing Off-Street Operations department’s monthly parking procedures. The Monthly Parking Examiner is the first point of contact for customers and assist with issues related to the daily job duties.

Principle Duties:

• Maintain access control for monthly parking badge holders.

• Post payments from monthly patrons.

• Create online customer accounts with banks.

• Create customer profile in Accounts Receivable program.

• Reconcile check and credit card deposits against reporting.

• Complete financial spreadsheets for Finance.

• Respond to customer complaints.

• Work closely with the Off-Street Operations Department.

• Identify, investigate, document, and report any system or accounting issues that occur while preparing or completing monthly audits.

• Deposit Account Receivable checks for the entire Authority.

• Data entry in multiple programs

• Related work as required

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Proficient in all aspects of Microsoft Office.

• Knowledge of adding machine, bank terms, bank scanners, and system reporting.

• Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.

• Ability to multitask.

• Advanced computer skills.

• Customer Service experience preferred but not required.

• Attention to detail.

• Organizational and time management skills.

• Ability to sit for long periods

Minimum Acceptable Training, Experience, and Education:

• High School Graduate.

• Accounting experience helpful.

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience reconciling revenue reports.

• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience auditing system reporting.

Working Hours: Schedule: Monday through Friday during normal business hours.

Selection Process:

50% - Assessment Test, (Computerized)

35% - Oral Interview,

05% - Attendance,

10% - Latest Annual Performance Evaluation

INTERNAL APPLICANTS WHO HAVE AT LEAST TEN (10) YEARS OF SERVICE WILL HAVE FOUR (4) POINTS ADDED TO THEIR TOTAL SCORE. APPLICANTS WHO ACHIEVE A COMBINED SCORE OF 36 POINTS FROM THE ASSESSMENT TEST, EMPLOYEE EVALUATION AND ATTENDANCE, BASED ON THE WEIGHT EACH CATEGORY IS GIVEN, WILL BE INVITED TO THE ORAL INTERVIEW PHASE OF THE PROCESS. ONLY THOSE APPLICANTS WITH A COMBINED TOTAL SCORE OF 70 WILL BE PLACED ON THE ELIGIBILITY LIST.
