For the next two weeks we will be reading the play “Twelve Angry Men” by Reginald Rose, a play written in 1954 about a jury faced with a homicide trial. As part of this unit, we will also explore the US judicial system and jury process. As you read the play, you will be asked to actively participate in our class discussions as well as complete a study guide and character chart. There will also be a small quiz at the play’s conclusion. When we have completed the play, you will have the opportunity to try out the judicial process for yourself by researching and compiling evidence in small groups to reach a verdict as a class on a case I will assign you.
