Dear student,

I would like to thank you for choosing KTU and I appreciate your trust in our University and the education it provides. You have probably heard many times that studies at the University stand for knowledge. I encourage you to take all of that knowledge in and make the use of every opportunity it provides. Be active in all of your classes, work remotely or eye-to-eye with the teachers, search for information in modern science databases, master working with laboratory equipment and travel abroad for part-time studies with student exchange programmes. You have also heard that the University means competence. There is no doubt that by studying here, you will develop skills valuable for professionals in Lithuania and abroad. Fearlessly take part in student leisure and career programmes, with which many people have already reached inspiring goals. I am sure you will meet interesting, intelligent, educated, creative people and those with a flair for business. All of them have developed critical thinking and they wish to make the decisions of tomorrow. KTU aims to gather active, intellectual and positive knowledge workers that are essential for success in technology-driven industries. You (definitely) have been gifted with many talents in this life. Welcome to our great KTU community.

May your studies be successful, KTU rector Eugenijus Valatka

The influence of artificial intelligence for the creators depends upon themselves. I see the importance of artificial intelligence in forming smarter and creative society. We are going to face many pleasant surprises in the future. Let`s be open to new challenges ahead of us.

of studies

student's notes2019

Study module

Study programme is made of study modules that are taught for one semester. A study module may include various combinations of lectures, laboratory work, practice, seminars, the student's individual work, scientific research, design work or other type of work.

Study modules may be mandatory, alternative (selected from a list), general and optional (from the list of all University modules). Studies of each module are completed by an evaluation of the students-knowledge and skills ? an examination or a different form of final assessment.

Study credit

Study workload is measured in study credits. Study credit is a unit for assessing study results and student's working time. 1,600 hours of one year of studies correspond to 60 credits. One study credit is equal to one credit of European credit transfer and accumulation system (ECTS).

Assessment system

University measures students' results by intermediate assessments. Final grade is the sum of the results of intermediate assessments and the final assessment.

A student is allowed to participate in the final assessment only if all intermediate assessments were submitted.
