“Successful Negotiations” Workshop to be Presented

by Orange County SBDC and Southern California Edison

(Santa Ana)—Experts say that a successful negotiation is one in which each party walks away feeling good. Perhaps they believe that they have received a fair shake in resolving an issue. Buyers may appreciate paying a reasonable price for a product or service. Sellers may be pleased that they have received fair value for their goods. Because of this positive experience, both parties frequently are willing to do business together again.

Yet, it is not always easy to arrive at this satisfactory conclusion. There is an art to a successful negotiation, and there are specific tactics that can lead you there. “Successful Negotiations,” a workshop presented by the Orange County Small Business Development Center (OCSBDC) on Wednesday, June 27 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. will help attendees to develop these skills. It will be held at the Le-Jao Center in the city of Westminster at 14120 All American Way. The Le-Jao Center is located in the Coastline Community College Center. There is no charge, and dinner will be provided.

At this three-hour interactive workshop sponsored by Southern California Edison, speaker and business consultant Jo Javier will teach attendees how to close negotiations and remove obstacles to arrive at win-win conclusions, as well as shorten the negotiation cycle. Participants will walk away equipped to conduct more successful negotiations that will improve their business profitability.

“Interactive role-playing scenarios will give our attendees hands-on experience in negotiation techniques that have proven to work,” Javier explains. “Participants in this ‘Successful Negotiations’ workshop will walk away confident that they can implement strategies to win contract and sales negotiations.”
