The Psychology course is designed to introduce students to the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. Students will be exposed to the psychological facts, principles, and phenomena associated with each of the major subfields. Work hard and complete all assignments.2. Use proper body and verbal language.3. Follow the dates and deadlines given in my instruction.4. Have all materials needed to complete assignments.5. Follow all the directions given by the teacher.Classroom Procedures:1. Be in your assigned seat quickly after entering the classroom. If the bell rings and you are not in the classroom, you will be counted TARDY.2. Immediately start working on the Warm-up once class has begun. 3. Ask any question by raising your hand. This included going to the bathroom and getting supplies.4. Do NOT speak while I am speaking.5. If absent, it is your responsibility to ask about the work that was missed. Check the assignment bin as well as my website.6. Dismissal from class comes from the teacher, not the bell. If all students are seated when the bell rings I will dismiss the class immediately after I am finished speaking. If the entire class is not seated, we will wait!7. During instructional time (when I am giving instructions or speaking) do not ask to use the restroom. Wait until you are independently working. No student will be allowed to use the restroom the first or last 10 minutes of class.Make Up Work:Major: If a student is absent or misses the day of the scheduled major grade, the student will have 1 day (the first day back) to make up the assignment after school. If this is not possible, a parent must contact me to schedule an alternate day and time (before or after school). If a student misses the allotted time after school to make up his or her assignment that student will receive a 0. (Remember ALL major grades will be timed)Minor: If a student is absent or misses any minor grade assignment the student will have 1 day (first day back) to make up or turn in the assignment before or after school. If this is not possible, the student must contact me to schedule an alternate day and time to make up the assignment. If the student misses the allotted time to make up his or her assignment that student will receive a 0. Late Work:LCISD policy1 day late = -20 points2 days late= -50 points Plagiarism/Cheating:Any student caught plagiarizing or cheating on any assignment will receive a 0.MINOR GRADES:30%Minor grades will consist of Vocabulary, Chapter Notes, In-Class Activities, Quizzes, and Homework Assignments. There will be NO reassessment on any minor grade.MAJOR GRADE SCHEDULE: 70% Testing Days: Monday & WednesdayMajor grades will consist of the average score of all Tests, Essays, and major projects. Each major grade assignment will be timed. Tests and essays will take place during class time. If a student is absent or misses the day of the scheduled major grade, the student will have 1 day to make up the assignment after school.
