Share how you have impacted healthcare in Minnesota through:

• Quality and Safety Initiatives

• Nursing Education & Professional Development Initiatives

• Patient & Family Engagement Initiatives

• You may also present in another category related or applicable to nursing leadership practice – please describe in your application

Please submit your entries by April 12. All entries will be entered into judging for the 2019 Influence of Nursing Leadership Award. The award winner will receive one conference registration to the 2019 Fall Conference, Oct. 3-4 at the DECC in Duluth (excluding room & board).

Poster Eligibility

Poster content must be recent and relevant.

Entries should establish a clear link between the nomination accomplishments and the mission/vision of MOLN.

• MOLN is committed to influencing health care by advancing professional nursing leadership through core values of: Collaboration, Contribution to the body of knowledge, Diversity, Innovation, and Mentorship

Each poster must fit into one of the following categories or another category related or applicable to nursing leadership:

▪ Quality and Safety Initiatives that demonstrate how nurses’ performance using quality, measurement, research, and collaborative learning improves patient safety and impacts patient outcomes.

▪ Nursing Education & Professional Development Initiatives that demonstrate how the use of current and innovative information enhance critical thinking, provides evidence for best practice; and creates an environment that promotes lifelong learning.

▪ Patient & Family Engagement Initiatives that demonstrate how nursing supports engagement of patients and their families in their own healthcare through inter-professional teams, processes and technology.

Poster Board Guidelines:

• Poster board must sit on one easel. You may bring your own easel or easels will be available for $15 with advance registration required. No other display equipment will be provided. The easel will be the only support device available for displaying your poster.

• Poster size is suggested to be smaller than 36 x 48 inches.

• Poster board should combine written and graphic materials that describe:

o Title of the Project

o Aims/objectives (i.e. purpose of the study and a background of how/why the opportunity existed).

o Method/process used to plan & implement project or study. Include enough detail so anyone could replicate your methodology/process.

o Results – What outcomes did you achieve? And/or what were lessons learned?

o Conclusion: Implications for nurse leaders

• Poster must be of a professional quality.

• Presenters are required to register for the spring conference. They should also be prepared to staff their poster board during the poster presentation sessions and during breaks, Thursday, April 25 from 2:30 to 7:30 pm. See conference brochure for exact break times.

Poster Award:

• All entries will be entered into judging for the 2019 Influence of Nursing Leadership Award. The award winner will receive one conference registration to the 2019 Fall Conference, Oct. 3-4 at the DECC in Duluth (excluding room & board). Award winner to be announced Friday, April 26. Winner must be present to receive the award. Runner-up winners will be chosen in the event the winner is not present.

Posters will be scored/judged on:

1. Follows the required descriptors/criteria above (i.e. title, aims/objectives, methods, results, and conclusion/implications for nurse leaders). Criteria has a logical progression of ideas and is clear and concise.

2. Is visually appealing with a neat and organized layout. Graphic and written material is well-balanced. Fonts are easy to read, and background/color choice enhances readability.

3. Verbal interaction – presenter demonstrates full knowledge of the materials and can elaborate on expected questions.

Process for submission to be completed by April 12.
