Ion Sancho, Supervisor of Elections, was one of 39 election officials, and the first in the State of Florida, to attain national certification by The Election Center, a national association of election officials. Supervisor Sancho and a third of his staff are recognized as a Certified Elections Registration Administrator for having completed a twelve class program on election procedures and practices. The Election Center's Freedom Award was presented to Supervisor Sancho and his staff in 2008 for outstanding innovations in the field of elections, specifically, streamlining the process of absentee ballot processing in cooperation with the U. S. Postal Service.. Ion Sancho, Supervisor of Elections, took office in January 1989, C.E.R.A certified since 1996 Janet Olin, Assistant Supervisor of Elections, began June 1991, C.E.R.A certified since 2003 Mark Earley, Voting Systems Manager, began March 1987, C.E.R.A certified since 2013 Thomas James, Election Systems Manager, began February 1989, C.E.R.A certified since 2007 Diana Mitchell-Fulford, Elections Coordinator, began September 2005, C.E.R.A certified since 2009
