Winter 2017/2018 Merry Christmas/Happy New Year!

Norma Brands A.C.E. of SW Minnesota Volunteer Coordinator for Rock Co.

Happy Holidays from our family to yours!

We at A.C.E. of SW Minnesota would like to take this time to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

I would like to showcase some of what has been done this past year and highlight what is available to do for this next year.

Along with all the volunteer opportunities we have, we offer

educational classes that help while we are living our lives. That may mean for better balance, being a caregiver, living with a chronic disease like diabetes, or even arthritis. Our classes are structured to be simple, engaging, and not take a lot of your time.

We would love to see you join us for a session or two in 2018!!!

2017 Highlights

There are many places to volunteer in Rock County, close to 60 stations. One of which is a group of ladies that keep themselves busy by helping with all the little tasks and things behind the scenes. They help the Chamber a lot through the year with large mailings, stuffing envelopes, and the school with coupon cutting and sorting.

In 2017 they were a huge help for Rock County with all the information that went out for our 150th Celebrations. They also enjoy the social time that goes with their work.

The Blood Mobile for the American Red Cross for Rock County, there are a group that helps with setting that up each time the Blood Mobile is in the area to do their blood drive. You may have received a call to set an appointment for giving blood. Volunteers help to make this event run smoothly.

ATLAS-Rock County Redeemed Remnants is a busy place for anyone wanting to volunteer to help the store set their floor up for every season of the year, and help keep things organized. Anyone may help here and there are all kinds of jobs and things of interest to do, like moving furniture when needed, organizing racks, doing the window display, or just help clerking in the store.

Each year we hold our evidence based classes such as Matter of Balance, it is an 8 week series that helps participants learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable. And goes into an exercise regimen, Bone Builders and currently have classes at the Poplar Creek/Oaks and the Senior Center. Contact my office for more info.
