RESOLUTION 02-11-13

BRIDGE REINSPECTION

WHEREAS, Title 23, Section 151, United States Code and Title 23, Part 650, Subpart C, Cod of Federal Regulations, requires initial inspection of all bridges and reinspection at intervals not to exceed two years with the exception of reinforced concrete box culverts that meet specific criteria. These culverts are reinspected at intervals not to exceed four years.

THEREFORE, Beadle County is desirous of participating in the Bridge Inspection Program using Bridge Replacement funds.

The Count requests SDDOT to hire Pierce & Harris Engineering Company for the inspection work. SDDOT will secure federal approvals, make payments to the Consulting Engineer for inspection services rendered, and bill the County for 20% of the cost. The County will be responsible for the required 20% matching funds.

RESOLVED; by the Board of Beadle County Commissioners that the plat of Lot 1, Lot 2 and Lot 3 of Wastewater Pond Addition in Section Twelve (Sec. 12), Township One Hundred Eleven North (Twp. 111 N.), Range Sixty West (Rge. 60 W.)of the Fifth Principal Meridian (5th P.M.), Beadle County, South Dakota, as described above and drawn hereon be approved and accepted and the Auditor hereby is instructed to endorse on such plat a copy of this resolution and to certify the same.

The board met with Jack Hartman, Town of Broadland Finance Officer to discuss the real estate property tax levy for the town of Broadland.

Moved by Benson, seconded by Marcus, motion carried to go into Executive Session for personnel pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2 (1) at 11:55 a.m. Chair Mattke declared Executive Session over at 12:25 p.m.

Moved by Marcus, seconded by Hansen, motion carried to declare surplus in the Weed Board 1988 Ford Spray Truck and 1983 Ford Spray Truck.

Moved by Marcus, seconded by Benson, motion carried to go into Executive session for personnel pursuant to SDCL 1-25-2 (1) at 12:40 p.m. Chair Mattke declared Executive Session over at 1:00 p.m.

Moved by Benson, seconded by Marcus, motion carried to approve the Variance Request of Mike Hofer to build a new garage where side lot to north will be less than 7 feet (Lake Byron Township).

Moved by Marcus, seconded by Hansen, motion carried to approve the Conditional Use Permit for Kaboomers Enterprises, Inc. to have fireworks stand located at 39632 W US HWY 14, Huron SD.

Moved by Benson, seconded by Marcus, motion carried to declare uncollectable the following properties for 2010 and 2011:

Gary Eichstadt bin in the SE1/4 17-111-63 and Cassie Waters mobile home in Woodys Trailer Court.
