Common Chromebook Issues

Screen sideways or swapped around? - Press Ctrl, Shift, and the circular arrow key at the top of the keyboard at the same time. Repeat until the screen is back to normal!

Chromevox/spoken feedback activated? - Press Ctrl, Alt, Z at the same time and it will disable it.

Magnified arrow key? Zoomed in top of the screen? Cursor set to automatically click when stopped? - These can all be disabled within accessibility settings, they are "enable fullscreen magnifier" "enable docked magnifier" and "automatically click when cursor stops" respectively.

Chromebook freezing or feels slow and sluggish? - Restart the Chromebook, if it persists, remove your child's account and then restart and sign back in.

WiFi suddenly disconnected? - Try restarting your Chromebook first, and then restart your router if it persists. You can also disconnect and reconnect as that might fix the issue.

Keyboard stops working? - This is an issue that happens randomly where all keys suddenly don't work. Simply restart the Chromebook until the keyboard starts working again, sometimes you might have to wait a few hours before trying again.

Specific keys are outputting wrong or are not doing anything at all? - This is a bit different from above, students commonly do this within the Chromebooks accessibility settings. Go to settings, accessibility, than advanced, and click "open keyboard device settings" you can reset the keys from there.
