Workday AnnouncementWorkday: Enabling change for a better experienceAs we look forward, we are embarking on a key improvement to our Human Resources (HR) function with a new system called Workday, which will allow us to better run our business and serve our employees. To build a foundation for the organization, we want to enable ourselves, our leaders, and our Managers with easy-to-use HR tools that will renovate our HR organization through operational efficiency and effectiveness thus shifting the focus to a more strategic business partnership. Workday is the primary source of all HR data for Magellan across all our business units. It offers improved processes and direct access to easily manage day-to-day HR needs, while supporting an enterprise, simplified, cloud-based HR solution that includes core Human Capital Management, Absence Management, Benefits, and Payroll via an Employee self-service and Manager self-service model. Workday is an industry leading tool that many organizations are using for their needs. Here’s an overview of what you can do in the employee-manager relationship. Many of these activities will be part of your daily role inside Workday.ManagersAs a Manager, access to Workday will simplify and streamline the way HR processes are completed. Here are some of the often-used manager features in Workday.Getting Things Done in WorkdayAccess Tasks in Your InboxYour Workday Inbox contains notifications of tasks. If a task has been assigned to you, it cannot move forward until you take action. For example, if one of your employees has a change in their role (Change Job), you must complete the process in Workday. Email and Workday are connected, so you will receive two notices: Workday Inbox and Work Email. You should log into Workday and visit the Workday Inbox when you receive a notification email. Manage Your TeamJob Change such as Transfer, Promotions, etc…Create/Edit Job RequisitionOrganization ChartReportsView Employee InformationManagers will have greater visibility to data related to their teams plus the ability to initiate common HR transactions for their direct reports. And, because Managers will have greater visibility, they will benefit from better planning and management. Managers are already involved in most, if not all, of the tasks that will be accessible via Workday. In some cases, this work is currently being done in a variety of manners to complete HR-related processes. At times, Managers may be waiting for replies or involved in a back and forth exchange resulting in possible delays for those impacted. With Workday, Managers can take action immediately and directly, improving accuracy of the data and reducing the amount of time required on their part and others.
