The Division of Special Education Inclusion Teachers provide instructional modifications and supports to students on the alternate curriculum who are participating in the general education setting. Inclusion Teachers provide service time to support students throughout schools within LAUSD, support behavioral interventions, and help students develop social skills in collaboration with the general education teacher and other school site staff.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

Under the general direction of the Coordinator, the duties include but are not limited to: Create and maintain a consistent schedule of service provision and co-planning with school site staff (general education

teachers, para-professionals, and administration) Provide specialized instruction and modified materials to implement the IEP, support goal achievement, and ensure meaningful

participation in the general education setting Create lesson specific modifications and on-going curricular adaptations and/or templates Implement positive behavior support plans and systems Model appropriate instructional strategies and techniques for the general education teacher and paraprofessionals including

social skills instruction as appropriate Build positive relationships with school staff and families Serve as collaborative team leader Facilitate informal team meetings that involve ongoing problem solving to address needs and identify solutions Develop and utilize tools and charts for ongoing data collection to monitor student's progress Utilize appropriate formal assessment tools as well as authentic assessment/portfolio-based assessments for IEP development

purposes Actively participates in special education professional development provided by the Division of Special Education. Performs other duties as assigned in accordance with the District/UTLA agreement.

Salary: Teacher Preparation Salary (T) Table; C Basis, 6-hour assignment In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized

"settlement" (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment). For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of

service credit. Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to budget limitations.

A valid California Moderate/Severe Education Specialist credential or equivalent combination of credentials/authorizations legally permitting service in the specific disability(ies) and at the level of this class description, must be in force and on file with the Commission on Teacher Credentialing (ctc.)

Possess a valid California Driver's License and the ability to travel to various sites throughout the District during the school day English Learner Authorization or equivalent Meet standard performance ratings and in the preceding years, have no Notice of Unsatisfactory Service.

Desirable Experience/Qualifications: 5 years successful classroom teaching experience Experience in creating inclusive opportunities for students with moderate severe disabilities/extensive support needs Experience in the use of technology as a management and instructional tool Experience teaching students with moderate severe disabilities/extensive support needs Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, manage time, and cope with multiple tasks Effective oral and written communication skills with children, families, colleagues, administrators, other District personnel, and
