Introduction

1 High Level Business Overview

It is required that there must be links to External URL’s provided to the LPC CLASS system on the web via a button within IRIS.

2 Background

This enhancement was voted in by the IUG. The text of the original voting list item was:

“Provide a link to the LPC CLASS system on the web via a button within IRIS”.

SN300068515 (521-Link to LPC CLASS System)

3 Scope

The system will be enhanced to allow an administrator to define what URLs will be available to the users at both the system and product/application level.

Applications that will allow link to External URLs functionality will include only the ones mentioned below:

• IRIS Application (System level only)

• Policy Input

• Manual Claims Input

• Manual Block Claims Input

• Manual Closings Input

• Bureau Claims

• Bureau Closings

The enhancement will also provide the ability to specify a web address template such that values from the currently open business object is used to populate the template (e.g. - Passing Claim Reference to a Bureau website, from within Claims Application when the Bureau website button is clicked).

The visibility of External URL toolbar buttons will be controlled via the System Administration utility.

4 Outside Scope

None.

6 Detailed Requirements List

The requirements can be summarised as follows:

• Provision of System Administration setting for the accessibility of the Toolbar button.

• Provision of managing the list of External URLs from within Business Customisation both at System and Product-Application level.

• Provision of a External URL button (Dropdown List) on IRIS Toolbar to connect to an external website at System level.

• Provision for the External URL buttons to be made available at IRIS Application level (Policy Input, Claims Input, etc).

• Provision to pass parameters from within the running application to the External URL being opened, if the website supports them. (e.g. - Passing Claim Reference to a Bureau website, from within Claims Application when the Bureau website button is clicked).

7 Acceptance Criteria

Implementation of the above

Functional Design

1 Summary

It is intended that IRIS Users must be able to open a predefined web site in Internet Explorer by clicking a button on the IRIS Toolbar.

The Web site details to be accessed will be managed from within Business Customisation.

Settings to control access to the button on the Toolbar will be controlled from System Administration utility at the Role/User level.

2 Functional Description

The IRIS System Toolbar will be modified to show a drop down list of labels that essentially are buttons which when clicked will link to the URL that has been specified as the underlying URL.

1 Business Customisation

1 System Level

The definition of URL’s and specifying the System level URLs will be controlled from within Business Customisation.

It will be possible to manage the External URLs from the Main menu as shown in Fig:3 and Fig:4

On clicking the “URL – External Web Links” menu selected in Fig:3, the screen as shown in Fig:4 will be displayed for editing the details of the URL.

2 Product-Application Level

URLs defined at System level will be available for defining them at Product-Application level.

Selecting URLs to be made available at the Product-Application level will also be controlled from within Business Customisation, after opening the particular Product type.

This will be done as shown in Fig:5.

Double clicking a URL from the ‘Selected’ list will display the screen as shown in Fig:6 for editing the details of the URL and specifying parameters.

The Parameters will be worked out automatically from the URL(as shown in Fig:7) by the application and present the User with the option to specify values against them.

Parameter values will follow the following rules for specifying them:

❑ Any text mentioned as a parameter value will be used literally

❑ Any application fields (Database FieldCode) picked from the lookup lists triggered from the lookup buttons will be encased in ‘[ ]’ brackets.

❑ Any blanks will be used as blank values in parameters.

3 URL - Reserved Character Usage

Reserved characters such as ‘ ’,‘&’, ‘=’,’+’, etc when encountered in the final URL (after the parameter values have been parsed and supplied and the URL built) that is supplied to the browser will be replaced with appropriate URL encoded characters (e.g – a space will be replaced with ‘%20’, etc)

2 System Administration

A System level System Administration setting ‘Allow access to External URLs’ will control the visibility of the External URLs on the Toolbar menu.

3 URL Parameters

The External URLs will accept parameters from within the running application to the URL being opened, if the target website supports them. (e.g. - Passing Claim Reference to a Bureau website, from within Claims Application when the Bureau website button is clicked).

These parameters will only be provided at Product-Application level and not the System level.

The URL parameters at Product-Application level will be captured via Business Customisation as shown in Fig: 5

Screen Design

The IRIS Toolbar will be modified to show the toolbar button as shown in the screens below (Fig: 1 and Fig: 2).
