Community Immunity Art Poster Contest
Sponsored by the Allegheny County Immunization Coalition (ACIC)
Entry Requirements and Criteria
❖ The contest is open to Allegheny County Students in grades 9-12 whose school is participating in the contest
❖ Art work must show an understanding of the theme

❖ Poster size: 11 X 17; allow ¼ inch for matting
❖ Orientation: landscape
❖ Mixed media; art paper suitable for matting and framing; no video
❖ Art work must be original and not copied from published sources, including books and magazines.
❖ Attach a signed and completed entry/release form to all submissions (obtain from the school nurse).
❖ Deadline for submission is Thursday, November 11, 2010.
❖ Art Institute of Pittsburgh (AiP) faculty will select 20 finalists.
Incentives
❖ This is a great opportunity for the students who are looking for a career in art to add to their portfolios
❖ Finalists’ art will be matted, framed and displayed at the AiP December 4-9, 2010.
❖ Winners announced at a reception at AiP Thursday, December 9, 2010.
❖ ACIC awards the 1st place winner $250, the 2nd place winner $150 and the 3rd place winner $100.
❖ The top 3 winners’ art may be displayed in buildings, on websites, in advertisements, print, media or billboards.
❖ Matted and framed art will be displayed at school and returned to the student.
Tuition scholarships awarded by the Art Institute of Pittsburgh: first place $1000; second place $750; third place $500 (Scholarships are exclusive to students planning to enroll full time at AiP and meet the normal terms and conditions required for admission)
