JOB DESCRIPTION

|Title: Maintenance Technician |Job Classification: Hourly/Non-Exempt |

|Reports to: Maintenance Manager |Updated: April 2018 |

|General Summary |

| |

|The Maintenance Technician maintains and troubleshoots equipment and machinery to minimize downtime. |

|Principle Responsibilities |

| |

|Direct production personnel in the proper use of tools, machinery or equipment function. |

|Understand and perform TPM events on all manufacturing equipment. |

|Complete facilities and maintenance projects as identified by the Maintenance or Plant Manager |

|Works to blueprints, drawings, schematics, sketches and verbal instructions. |

|Work with minimum direction and supervision. Must be self-motivated. |

|Capable of diagnosing problems with machine tools or production equipment. Implement required changes, repairs or adjustments to eliminate mechanical |

|and/or electromechanical issues. |

|Ability to use manufacturer documentation for troubleshooting and PM instruction. |

|Communicate parts used and/or parts needed to the team member managing procurement to ensure timely replacement of parts. |

|Minimize equipment downtime and improve equipment reliability. |

|Complete repairs to facilities systems as needed. |

|Work with vendors or contractors to ensure completion of contracted projects. |

|Share equipment related knowledge with team members. Seek knowledge or physical assistance when needed. |

|Utilize maintenance database system to document work completed. |

|Work with Safety Manager to implement safety improvements. |

|Required Education and Experience: |

|High School Diploma or GED |

|Strong mechanical aptitude. |

|Ability to use a Digital Multimeter (DMM) to identify the presence of AC/DC voltage and open/shorted circuits. |

| |

|Preferred skills and abilities: |

|5 years of experience working with industrial process equipment or similar type equipment. |

|Demonstration of PLC installation, programming, and troubleshooting knowledge, Rockwell Automation, drive programming. |

|AC and DC drive installation, programming, and troubleshooting knowledge. |

|Ability to install and program small process controllers by Ormec, Siemens, and Yaskawa. |

|Training Required: |

|On-site orientation and training will be provided |

| |

|Skills Required: |

|Must have experience with MS word, MS Excel and ability to use a computer daily. Emails must be checked daily. |

|Must be able to read, understand directions and communicate in English. |

| |

|Comments: |

|Must have the ability to work overtime and shift work. |

|Must be a team player. |

|Must have the ability to adapt to changes in administrative procedures. |

|Must have the ability to follow instructions. |

| |

|Working Conditions: |

|Shop environment where Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required. |

|Working at heights |

| |

|Physical Effort Requirements: |

|Long periods of standing, must be able to lift 50 pounds (with assistance if requested). |

|Must be able to complete work assignments in tight spaces |

|Must be able to partner with other technicians to complete work on a scissor lift (500lb weight limit, 250lb for each side of platform when extended) |

|Must not be afraid of heights or have a condition preventing the ability to work at heights |
