In particular, the post holder will act as the University’s social media expert and be responsible for delivering on the implementation of our social media strategy. The post holder will coordinate the cross-department content, effectively collaborating with internal stakeholders to source content aligned to the brand and social strategies. You will support colleagues from across the institution to deliver social media excellence, advising on best practice for engaging our audiences.Key accountabilities/primary responsibilities% TimeSocial media marketing and campaigns Develop plans with clear goals to support our marketing and corporate communications strategies through existing and new social media channels and platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube etc.)Manage social media campaigns and day-to-day activities using scheduling toolsDevelop and commission relevant content to reach the University’s target audiences and help drive traffic to our websiteCurate and manage published content on social channels (images, video and written), ensuring our information is as accessible and inclusive as possible.Monitor, listen and respond to or signpost users, working with relevant colleagues across the organisation against specific KPIs or benchmark to ensure success metricsOversee design of our corporate social media channels (e.g. Facebook Timeline cover, profile pictures, thumbnails, ads, landing pages, Twitter profile)Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach effortsWork closely with the Media Relations team to help manage our reputation onlineIntelligent use of paid social to boost reach and engagement, managing promotion and social ad campaigns centrally Analyse key metrics and adapt strategy as needed by developing a clear framework and guidance of our servicesCollaborate with internal communications to develop our engagement with student and staff communities in enabling user-generated content for our channels Contribute to the social media strategy in collaboration with Head of Digital and supporting the implementation operational plan for the overall development of the University’s social media presence. Ensure the integration of the University’s brand and related digital activities influenced by social, including Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and operationally manage the Community of Practitioners (CoP) via governance frameworkCarry out constant evaluation of the external social landscape, identifying innovative solutions for implementation to the University’s social offering Provide advice and guidance to colleagues in the innovative use of social channels as a marketing tool, to maximise effectiveness and resource Lead a Community of Practitioners (CoP) to instil best practice disciplines, governance models and maintain best practice guiding principles 45%Video and digital imagery production Lead the Multimedia Reporters and Video Producer in the making of visual and audio content and creatively integrate into social and campaign activities, ensuring good representation of the University brand Facilitate the sharing of best practice, ideas and the use of the University brand across the group of external video production suppliers. PERSON SPECIFICATIONCriteriaEssentialDesirableHow to be assessedQualifications, knowledge and experienceSkill level equivalent to achievement of HND, Degree, NVQ4 or basic professional qualification.Proven experience as a Social Media expert, ideally in an enterprise level organisation. Experience of working with the full mix of digital marketing channels including, web, social, paid advertising, email campaigns, video, application development and event support.Demonstrable experience of writing creative, high quality, customer focused digital content for a wide range of audience groups across the full mix of digital channels.Experience of working with brand and delivering content to emphasise brand values and principles.Experience of editing digital content to meet the needs and add value to specific petency working with social media metrics and analytics Experience of using social media management platforms for use cases including for content publishing, community engagement, customer service, and crisis managementMeticulous attention to detail.Experience of making creative suggestions about ways of communicating digitally with relevant target audiences.
