What Shall I wear? ¨C Being invited to a wedding is wonderful. Usually it¡¯s an opportunity

to see family members that we haven¡¯t seen in a while; and we are served fine food and beverages. However, there may be a concern about ¡°what shall I wear?¡± Today¡¯s Gospel addresses two issues: People who are invited to the wedding feast who do not come; and people

who do come to the banquet but are not dressed properly. This is about the Heavenly Banquet that we are all invited to. Some choose not to come. They don¡¯t believe; they don¡¯t

have time; or they are distracted by the secular world. Those who choose to come must be

¡°dressed¡± properly. Clothing, how one is dressed, is a metaphor for good works and being

faithful followers of Jesus. If we can say that we love God and our neighbors and we serve

them with love we can be assured that we are prepared to go to the banquet.

Living Rosary ¨C Sunday October 22 at 7:00pm we will have the ¡°Living Rosary¡± in the

Church. Members of our Parish family will each be one of the Rosary beads. They will

spread out around the perimeter of the Church in prayer. Please come and join us to pray for

peace.

Autumn Diocesan Gathering 2017

Please consider attending the Autumn Diocesan Gathering on Saturday, October 21, 2017

from 9:00 AM ¨C 1:00 PM. Bishop Christopher Coyne, Bishop of Burlington Vermont, will

be the presenter for the day on the topic: ¡°Communicating the Joy of the Gospel: Reaching

the Occasional Catholic.¡± Drawing on his many years of pastoral experience, Bishop Coyne

will offer us practical insights and a renewed sense of hope as we seek to welcome and invite

our fellow Catholics whom we only see a few times a year. There will also be witness talks

from our parishes throughout our diocese as well as time to share with one another and to ask

questions of Bishop Coyne. Bishop Coyne will be presenting from Our Lady of Annunciation, Queensbury with video live streaming to and active participation at St. Francis DeSales,

Herkimer; St. Mary¡¯s, Oneonta; St. Patrick¡¯s, Catskill; and Mater Christi, Albany. Register

by October 13th at autumngathering. Cost is $10/person. Questions: Office of

Lay Ministry & Parish Faith Formation (518) 453-6670 or david.amico@.

white socks, also a much needed item. We will continue until October 22, World Youth Day.

The Crayon Initiative

What do you do with all those broken, worn out crayons in your house? Throw them in the garbage? Not the best idea¡a better idea is

to recycle them. How? Since 2015, The Crayon Initiative has prevented 75,000 pounds of crayons from going into landfills. There they

would become a waxy sludge, clogging the landfill. Instead, The Crayon Initiative has collected them and turned them into over 20,000

packs of new crayons that were donated to children¡¯s hospitals. A much better idea, don¡¯t you think? Bring your old crayons to Faith

Formation and we will pack them up and send them to the Crayon Initiative. For more information, check out .

Children¡¯s Liturgy of the Word (CLOW)

Following the opening prayer at the 11am Mass, Father will invite all children from Pre-K to grade 3 to go to with our catechists to hear

and discuss the readings for that Sunday¡¯s Mass. They will return to you in the church after the Prayer of the Faithful.

Older siblings may participate in a different role as helpers to Mrs. Pontari. She also welcomes parent¡¯s help.

If you would like to accompany your little ones and see what it¡¯s all about, please feel free to join them.
