Course Materials:

• Textbook: Algebra I McDougal Littell (Each student has their own copy of this book which should be covered)

• Textbook is available online through student resources.

Materials to be brought to class:

• Pencil and eraser

• Netbook in the case

• Completed homework

• Notebook

Expectations upon entering:

• Students should show competency in Pre-Algebra and computation of whole numbers, fractions and decimals without the use of a calculator.

• Students will be a part of a life long learning experience.

• Students will show respect towards one another and towards the teacher.

Curriculum:

• Material outlined in the Common Core State Standards

• The study of variables, exponents and powers, order of operations, equations and inequalities, tables and graphs, and intro to functions

• Real numbers and operations, Matrices, Distributive property

• Probability and odds

• The study of linear equations to include solving, writing and graphing

• Solving and graphing inequalities

• Use of the calculator

Grading Policy:

• Tests 65% and Quizzes 30%

• Homework 5% of grade

• Homework is accepted late for partial credit.
