SYLLABUS-AInstructor: F. Gonzalez Course: ECONOMICSTerm: SPRING 2019DESCRIPTIONIn accordance with the California State Standards this course will introduce the study of ECONOMICS and its concepts. Lesson will focus on economic theory, development, systems, structures, and its impact on American society.TEXT McGraw Hill, PRICIPLES OF ECONOMICSand selected readings to be announcedWEBSITEmrgsapworld.ATTENDANCEAttendance is vital to succeed in this course. Make up assignments, quizzes, and exams, will be the responsibility of the student and must be completed no later than ONE day after original due date. Tardies are unacceptable and penalties can include point deductions/detention. CLASS RULES1. Class tardies are unacceptable and student must be seated when the bell rings.2. The textbook is required DAILY.3. You need to bring a spiral notebook DAILY specifically for class notations.4. Student should be prepared to take notes and begin assignment on a daily basis.5. No eating or drinking in class. (Water is the only exception) 6. No cell phone use in class. (Phones can be taken away and parent will have to pick it up personally.)7 Talking in class will be kept at a minimum.8. “Treat others as you would want to be treated.” GRADEThe course grade will be based on the following assignments:- 2-3 weekly class assignments - 5-10 Exams - Work Habits/Cooperation marks - Extra Credit can be assigned at the instructor’s discretion.GRADING SCALEThe following monthly scale will be used when grading:A= 90%-100% C= 70%-79%F= 59% and belowB= 80%-89% D= 60%-69%COURSE OUTLINE (TENTATIVE)There will be a main Topic for the week, followed by the discussion of different subjects relating to the main topic. Students are expected to take notes, maintain their portfolio, and participate in class discussions.
