| 14. General Summary of Function/Purpose of Position |

|Employees in this job train and direct prisoners in factory/plant production operation within |

|Michigan State Industries (MSI) in the Department of Corrections. The employee has responsibility |

|for training, evaluating, and overseeing prisoners’ work and performance in the production, warehousing, packaging, and shipping of a variety of janitorial and|

|laundry products, as well as keeping production records, monitoring production quality and inventory control. Enforce all safety and security procedures and |

|assist custody staff in providing proper security and supervision in the |

|factory. |

|Bring areas of concern to the attention of the Plant Manager so that problems can be identified and resolved. |

|Provide prisoner workers with required safety equipment and monitor compliance with safety procedures. |

|a very dangerous environment. These conditions will exist throughout each work day. |
