Request for Research Proposals
Fiscal Year 2021
Michigan State University AgBioResearch announces a request for proposals (RFP) to conduct research and outreach programs at the Southwest Michigan Research and Extension Center (SWMREC). The research project proposals should address industry-identified priorities in fruit, vegetable, ornamental plant, and field crop production, or the environmental quality of agricultural landscapes in southwest Michigan.
Submit the signed proposal as an electronic Word or pdf file by E-mail no later than 5:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 to the following:

Team leaders of projects at SWMREC are expected to work with the farm manager Dave Francis to coordinate land use, plot design, needed pre-plant soil modification, cultural practices, chemical application, material, labor and other needs.
Monthly reports on project expenses will be provided to the principal investigator via email by SWMREC.
The team leader must provide a progress report to the SWMREC coordinator William Shane by December 17, 2021.

General Costs for SWMREC Projects
*Projects will be assessed $14.29 per hour for unskilled hand-labor and $35.43 per hour for skilled labor.
**New in 2021. Tractor use on projects will be assessed $10 and $5 per hour for 80 hp and 40 hp tractors, respectively, to cover fuel costs.
