Hill-Murray's mission is to provide an excellent Catholic Benedictine middle and secondary education program for students of all faiths and races. Hill-Murray is committed to developing creative and responsible leaders for today's and tomorrow's world, who will provide effective moral leadership in their local and global communities. Dear Members of the Hill-Murray Community,

I am proud to provide you with our 2013-2014 annual report, as much a "state of the school" as a tribute to the difference your incredible generosity makes. It's been another exciting year and your commitment to our school, our students and our families is immeasurable.

Through the support of so many, we continue to reinvent our campus, both inside and out. On the east side of the building, we recently celebrated a ribbon cutting ceremony for our new 8-court tennis complex. Across the hall from three new science labs completed last year, we've unveiled three beautiful art studios created to foster our programming in drawing, painting, ceramics and graphic design. Our auditorium has been enhanced with the addition of a sound and light booth and our varsity gym floor sparkles with its new finish. While it is tough to show you mechanical and electrical upgrades, it is easy to see that changes are happening to Aldrich Arena. Hill-Murray School has secured a long-term lease with Ramsey County that truly makes Aldrich our "home ice" and thanks to a group of passionate Pioneer hockey alumni and supporters, we're nearing completion of a new locker room facility. The success and momentum of our We Believe fundraising efforts continues to provide the means to acquire the educational facilities and resources our students need and deserve.

The need for tuition assistance continues to grow and this year, gifts to The Friends of Hill-Murray Student Fund made it possible for 70 students to attend Hill-Murray. Building on the excitement of initiatives like the FOHM, our Board of Trustees continues to focus on the strategic allocation of precious resources to ensure families have access to a Hill-Murray diploma for generations to come.

Under the leadership of our new principal, Dr. Chuck Briscoe, we welcomed 25 sixth graders to our school for the first time. Having made powerful upgrades to our network infrastructure, we successfully launched our 1:1 laptop program, HMConnected, providing immediate access to the latest educational resources and collaborative tools needed to prepare our high school students for life beyond Hill-Murray. We continue to enhance the programs offered in The Nicholas Center to meet the needs of students who find learning a real struggle while at the same time, providing our teachers with meaningful professional development strategies and support to better differentiate their instruction to all students in their classroom each day.

Our new Vice President, Chris Zupfer, comes to us with an extensive fundraising background and has made an immediate impact on our Development Department. Building on the strong foundation created by VP JoAnn Gelbmann who retired this June, he has purposefully enlisted the Board's Development Committee to help drive concrete and measurable strategies to increase our planned giving, endowment, annual and capital fundraising results.

It has, indeed, been a remarkable year and our students are thriving in a vibrant, faith-filled community. I am most grateful for your investment in Hill-Murray School and in their future.
