What is Geyser?

Geyser is a proxy, bridging the gap between Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Minecraft: Java Edition servers. The ultimate goal of this project is to

allow Minecraft: Bedrock Edition users to join Minecraft: Java Edition servers as seamlessly as possible to allow for true cross-platform.

How do I use it?

Geyser can be downloaded from our Jenkins server here and setup installations can be found on our wiki or in the tutorial video. Geyser can be

used to join any modern Java server and doesn't require anything extra to be done on their end.

How does it work?

Geyser is a middleware, which translates all the incoming and outgoing packets. With this being said, Geyser works as a standalone proxy,

meaning you can use it to join any modern Minecraft Java server. Geyser can also be installed on your server as a plugin, so you can easily make

your server compatible with Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.

Join from anywhere.

Geyser can be joined from Windows 10, iOS, Android, and even consoles (see here for how to set this up!) Geyser is tested working with a wide

array of hosting providers, and, if you own the server, you aren't limited by a Java account with our Floodgate plugin!

How to Cross-play Minecraft on Windows 10, PS4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch.

Some arguments never die; Mac vs PC, iOS vs Android, and PC vs Console. With games, you will note that not all games release to all platforms.

Some studios remain loyal to a particular console e.g. the PlayStation, while others prefer to release for more than one or all of them. Some games

are available on all or almost all platforms. Case in point; Minecraft. It¡¯s easily one of the most widely distributed games; you can play it on a

desktop, phone, and on consoles.

When you have a game that¡¯s available on so many platforms, and it¡¯s a game that can be played online, on a hosted server, that multiple friends

can be invited to, it makes you wonder if the game also supports cross-play.

Cross-play in gaming.

Cross-play means that the platform you play a game on is mostly irrelevant when you want to play with other players. If a game supports crossplay, it will allow users that play on a PC to play with other users who may be on an Xbox or a PlayStation.

Cross-play requires proper support. Just because a game is available on multiple platforms doesn¡¯t necessarily mean that players from all platforms

will be able to play with each other. They may still be limited to playing with just users who are on the same platform as them. That¡¯s why games

that are popular across multiple platforms are often urged to add cross-play support. The idea has been around for ages but only recently has it

become popular enough for studios to pay attention.

Cross-play Minecraft.

Minecraft is a game that started out on the PC but has expanded to every gaming platform there is. It is available on;

Windows 10 (PC) iOS Android PlayStation Xbox (Not supported on the Xbox One Edition) Nintendo Switch.

For each of the above platforms, Minecraft supports cross-play but for Windows 10, cross-play is only available for the UWP/Bedrock version.

The Java version does not support it and the window for Java users to get the UWP version for free has closed so if that¡¯s the version you own,

you will have to buy the UWP one. Minecraft added support for cross-play with the Better Together Update.

Minecraft Better Together Update.

The Minecraft Better Together Update is a patch that was added to the game. To get it, you need to be running the latest version of Minecraft.

This update was announced in 2017 so if you¡¯re running the latest version of the game on your console/computer/phone, you already have it.

If you¡¯re on the PlayStation, support for Cross-play was added in December 2019. We¡¯re well into 2020 now so you should already have it if the

game is updated on your console.

How to Cross-play Minecraft: PS4/Xbox/PC/Switch.

In order to cross-play Minecraft you need to;

Create a free Xbox account . You don¡¯t need Xbox Live unless you play on an Xbox. You now need to link the Xbox account to the Minecraft

account that you will be playing with. This needs to be done on the device that you¡¯re playing on. For the PS4: Open Minecraft on your console,

and select the ¡®Sign in for free¡¯ option that you see. Sign in with the Xbox account that you created. Once signed in, Minecraft will redirect you to

this page and it will display a code on the console. Enter the code on the page and click Let¡¯s Play. For the Nintendo Switch: Open Minecraft and

select the ¡®Sign in for free¡¯ option. Sign in with the Xbox account that you created. You will see a code on your console. Enter it on this page. Sign

in to your Xbox account again if prompted to, and the two accounts will be linked. For the Xbox: Your account is already set up and you do not

have to do anything. For Windows 10: Open Minecraft and click the Sign In option at the bottom left. Sign in with your Xbox account, and you¡¯re

good to go. Make sure all players that you want to play with have fulfilled the above two requirements as well. Add these players as friends on

Xbox . To add friends to Xbox; Visit the official Xbox website and sign in with your Xbox account. Go to My Xbox>Friends. Use the search bar

to look for your friends by their account and add them. Ensure version homogeneity: The map that you want to play on must have been created for

the latest version that supports cross-play. Everyone that is going to play on the map must also be running the latest version of Minecraft i.e., it

must be a version that supports cross-play though ideally, everyone should be running the latest version of the game no matter what. You¡¯re now

ready for cross-play . Open Minecraft on your device. Go to the Friends tab , and you will see your friends listed there. Invite them to a map , or

they can invite you to play on a map.

Conclusion.

Cross-play on Minecraft is fairly simple but it is tied down somewhat to the Xbox service. This is to be expected since there has to be a central

service to connect different platforms together. The Xbox account dependency isn¡¯t going to go away but it¡¯s small and once you set the account

up, you won¡¯t have to bother with it again unless you need to add a friend.

Yes, 'Minecraft' is cross-platform ¡ª here's how to play with your friends on any system.

Over the past few years, "Minecraft" has developed a great multiplayer mode. Best of all, this multiplayer mode has cross-platform (or crossplay)

functionality, meaning that it doesn't matter what system you play "Minecraft" on ¡ª you can play with friends on any system.

Just note that there are two different versions of "Minecraft," and each one of them does crossplay a bit differently. The biggest thing to remember

is that you can play "Minecraft" with anyone who owns the same version as you.

If you want to play with your friends, here's what you need to know about how "Minecraft" supports cross-platform gaming.

'Minecraft: Bedrock Edition' allows cross-platform play across consoles, phones, and PCs.

"Minecraft: Bedrock Edition" is playable on Windows 10 PCs, Xbox One and Series S/X, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, iOS

and iPadOS devices, and Android devices.

If you're playing "Minecraft: Bedrock Edition," you can add friends and play with them on any other system. They just have to be playing "Bedrock

Edition" too.

Quick tip: Be aware that you may not see the word "Bedrock" when you buy a copy of "Minecraft" for your console ¡ª the subtitle is generally

omitted in the marketing. On PCs, for example, it's often called just "Minecraft for Windows 10."

If you're playing that version, or any version of "Minecraft" on a console or phone, you're playing "Bedrock."

How to do crossplay in 'Minecraft: Bedrock Edition'

To play cross-platform you simply need to add and invite your friends to your world. Here's how:

After launching "Minecraft," sign into your Microsoft account (Xbox One users will have an account automatically). You'll see a button for this in

the main menu if you're not signed in already. Console players will also need an online subscription for their device, such as Xbox Live or Nintendo

Switch Online.

Click "Invite to Game," on the far-right, then select the option to "Find Cross-Platform Friends" on the next screen.

Friends added and available for multiplayer will appear under "Online Friends." Check the box by their gamertag and click "Send 1 Invite." When

they accept, they'll be loaded into your world.

Note that some worlds in "Bedrock" can't be played with users on other platforms. This is because each console has exclusive content that's only

available on that specific console.

For instance, on the Nintendo Switch, you can't share the "Mario Mash-Up" world template with friends on other platforms. You can only share it

with other Switch users.

'Minecraft: Java Edition' allows cross-platform play across PC, Mac, and Linux.

"Minecraft: Java Edition" is the original version of "Minecraft," and while it's not playable on consoles, it's the only version available for Mac and

Linux users.

"Java" users can play with other "Java" players, regardless of whether they're running the game on a Windows, Linux, or Apple operating system.

Playing multiplayer with "Java" is a little more complicated than "Bedrock," but not difficult once you're familiarized. These are a few of your

options:

You can use a public Minecraft server or create your own , and invite friends using an IP address You can pay for Minecraft Realms , where

Mojang hosts multiplayer servers for you but it costs money.

Or you can play together by sharing a local area network , or LAN, meaning you'll have to be in the same place as the other players.

For more detail on how to play with others in "Minecraft: Java Edition," check out our article "How to play multiplayer in 'Minecraft: Java Edition,'

using either a public server or one you create yourself."

Microsoft Will Be Making Minecraft Cross-Platform Compatible.

The thing about PC gaming is that regardless of whatever PC brand or build or operating system version, PC gamers can play multiplayer games

together as long as they are able to run the game on their computer. When it comes to consoles, it¡¯s an entirely different story, but cross-platform

play is something that is being worked towards.

In fact at E3 2017, Microsoft announced that Minecraft would be getting cross-platform support, meaning that for the most part, Minecraft players

across different platforms will be able to play together, pick up where they left of, and so on. The supported platforms include the Xbox One,

Windows 10, iOS, Android, Gear VR, Oculus Rift, Fire TV, Kindle Fire, Windows Phone, and the Nintendo Switch.

Missing from this would be Microsoft¡¯s previous generation Xbox 360 console, and Sony¡¯s PS4, the latter of which isn¡¯t surprising. In more recent

times, Microsoft has warmed up to the idea of cross-play across consoles and from the statements we¡¯ve heard, it sounds like the ball is pretty

much in Sony¡¯s court.

However a report from last year suggested that maybe for security reasons and the use of different security protocols could be the reason why

we¡¯ve yet to see Xbox One and PS4 cross-play. That being said as far as Minecraft is concerned, gamers will still need to buy Minecraft for each

individual platform, but if you¡¯ve been looking forward to playing Minecraft with your friends who are using different platforms, this could be worth

looking forward to in the near future.

How To Crossplay Minecraft PS4 And PC? | Crossplay Tutorial.

Minecraft is obviously one of the most popular games with more than a million active players.

Minecraft easily supports crossplay with every platform, though it may be possible that you aren't aware of the version which supports crossplay.

In the end, you will know which version of Minecraft supports crossplay and if you don't have that, unfortunately, you won't be able to play. Cross

platform for Minecraft was announced in 2017 on most of the platforms. While the cross platform feature for PlayStation was released in 2019.

Let's start.

How to crossplay Minecraft on PC with PS4.

(NOT ALL PC CAN CROSSPLAY, READ ABOUT WHICH VERSION SUPPORTS CROSSPLAY)

Before coming to the point, it'll be better to know if your version of Minecraft can support crossplay or not.

Java Edition Bedrock Edition.

If you have Java edition, then unfortunately you cannot crossplay with PS4 because Java Edition is only applicable for PC and it can only be cross

played with players with Java Edition. If y ou wish to play with the one who has a PS4, then you need to have a bedrock edition.

You can do nothing to crossplay with the PS4 version of Minecraft if you have Java Edition.

2. Bedrock Edition.

Bedrock Edition supports crossplay on almost every platform and it does support PC with PS4. So if you have Bedrock edition then

congratulation, you are on the safe side and good to go further ahead.

For your kind information, Bedrock Edition is only available for Windows 10, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Phone. So yeah, don't

worry if you have windows 10 and bedrock edition because, on the other side, the PS4 version of Minecraft can easily support crossplay. Scroll

down to know the steps to crossplay. Though bedrock edition is better than java edition. Bedrock edition also supports cross-platform with iOS

and fire iOS. Windows 7 or XP? That's unfortunate.

If you have Bedrock Edition on PC, you can now know how to crossplay with PS4.

How to crossplay Minecraft with PC and PS4?

The process is very simple, you have to open Minecraft and follow these steps carefully :

Open Minecraft. Make a new Microsoft account and tell the same to your fellow with PS4 if he doesn't have an account. After making a new

account, sign in. Alright, now find 'add a new friend' and type your fellow Gamertag. Okay, the process is done and now follow another process

below . Go to the 'Play tab' and select ' Find cross-platform friend'. Make a call to your fellow with PS4 and ask his/her Gamertag. Find the very

same Gamertag (make sure that your fellow is switched on with his/her PS4).

C onclusion.

Nothing really to conclude about but now you can peacefully play with your friend which you have been hoping for years but unfortunately, you

weren't able to find out the tutor ial. Though more than 80% of players failed to crossplay because they were unaware of the two editions and

unfortunately have Java edition. No problem, get yourself the bedrock edition and follow these steps, its costs around 40 USD. You can get the

bedrock edition for your PC from an online store through the Microsoft site or else, a physical disc for Minecraft is also available for pc.

One more thing to be added here is that you will find difficulty while getting into a hosted server but it is quite easy to join into the world. After all,

playing with your mates is quite exciting and fun. Note: Gamertag is just like a PSN id or a unique username.

Thanks to Microsoft and Sony, despite being the opponent of each other's, allowed to crossplay with their platforms (pc and ps4). For your kind

knowledge, Sony has just recently allowed the crossplay, or else they don't even like to do it.
