Payroll FAQ Sheet - Moody Bible Institute

Payroll FAQ SheetPayroll’s Frequently Asked Questions from Student Employees What are the pay dates for part-time student employees? Pay dates for part-time student employees occur biweekly (every other week). The first pay date of 2015 was Friday, January 2, 2015. Part-time employees are paid every two weeks thereafter. Moody does not issue paper pay checks. Part-time student employees will be paid either via direct deposit or by means of a payroll debit card (pay card). Find out when time slips are due and when you get paid: Payroll Calendar here. Why does Moody use direct deposit instead of paper checks? It is much more efficient to pay employees via direct deposit. No checks are lost in the mail and money is received and available immediately from the employee’s bank account. Moody recognizes that some students do not have bank accounts or change them often. Therefore, as another option, Moody will also issue a payroll debit card (pay card) for part-time employees who do not elect direct deposit. If I open a bank account during the school year, can I opt out of the pay card and choose direct deposit? Yes, you may sign up for direct deposit at any time. Please visit Payroll on Crowell 5 to submit the Direct Deposit Form and a voided check.Direct Deposit Form here. The Payroll Department requests that students refrain from frequent changes in bank accounts used for direct deposit. The reason for this is because opening and closing of bank accounts delays one’s pay for the pay period in which the change occurs. ?Payroll understands that?some circumstances require a change of bank accounts. If this is the case, please notify Payroll with your new direct deposit information immediately. ?If Payroll is not notified immediately, please expect a delay in your pay. Three or more bank account changes within a semester will result in issuance of a Pay Card. Direct deposit will no longer be an option. Will there be a charge for using the pay card at an ATM? The first transaction per pay period is at no fee when you use an All Point Network ATM. Please visit to find a location nearest to you. After the first transaction in each period, subsequent transactions at All Point Network ATM’s are $1.75. If you use an ATM outside of the All Point Network, you will be charged their normal fees. When making purchases, simply select “credit” at the PIN pad. You will not be charged a fee for the credit transaction. However, if you select “debit” and enter a PIN, there will be a fee of $.50 per transaction. What happens if I lose my pay card? Do I lose all the money that is on the card? If your card is lost or stolen, immediately call Global Card Customer Service at 866-395-9200. They will freeze your card balance, issue you a new card, and transfer your balance to your new card.
