STATION BREAKS:

Each station break is 1-minute-15 seconds (00:01:15).

TWO AND THREE MINUTE AD BREAKS/FEATURES

We have created two and three minute features of non-commercial material that air during ad breaks where some stations may cut away from the broadcast to run local commercials or recognize local underwriters. If your station is NOT running commercials or underwriting, the broadcast continues with taped features and you can just return to the opera broadcast immediately following each station break.

Operas with one intermission will have a two-minute ad break/feature immediately following the station break and later in the intermission a three-minute break/feature. Operas with two intermissions will have a two-minute break/feature following the station break in both intermissions, and another two-minute break/feature later during one of the intermissions. Operas with no intermission will have a two minute break in the opening.

TRANSMISSION:

STATIONS CONNECTED TO THE CONTENT DEPOT – Please be sure that your station has signed up for each Saturday broadcast. You can do this all at once for the whole season. If you are not signed up for each program you will not receive the broadcasts. In the case of operas which offer both a live and delayed feed, please be sure to sign up for the correct one.

TRANSMISSION TROUBLE REPORTING PROCEDURES

If any transmission problems occur during the opera on Saturday, contact the NPR Content Depot help line if your station is a subscriber.  If the station is not subscribed to the Content Depot, switch to our back up streaming service at worknews and call the Met Radio Booth immediately at 212-870-4143 for assistance.  If you are a Content Depot user and you are experiencing any problems during the prior week, you can call NPR (202-513-2600) no later than Friday to set-up an ISDN feed that you can call into on Saturday.

PROMOS: Weekly promos will be available at both the content depot and worknews at least by Thursday, nine days in advance of each broadcast. Generic promos are also posted on Content Depot and worknews.

AUTOMATION RELAYS FOR RADIO STATIONS INTERCONNECTED WITH CONTENT DEPOT: For each 00:01:15 STATION BREAK, use Cue #3 (station ID); for end of broadcast use Cue #4 (end of show)

AUTOMATION CONTACT CLOSURES FOR NON CONTENT DEPOT USERS

CLOSURE #1 indicates a 1:15 STATION BREAK.  This will occur at the beginning of the station break(s) in the first intermission and second intermission. CLOSURE #2 indicates end of broadcast.
