Anytime Fitness Internship/Capstone ProgramAnytime Fitness is a health club that countless members call their second home. Our mission as a brand is to raise the self-esteem of the world. The members within our club our family and many of them work with a coach to guide them on their fitness journey. Our internship program hires 2 of the region’s most passionate and committed individuals interested in gaining the knowledge and experience to develop themselves and inspire others.This internship is for individuals looking to enter the fitness industry as Personal Trainers or Personal Training Managers. Under the direct supervision and guidance of our lead trainers and managers you will have the opportunity to observe and learn how to coach a very diverse group of people. Furthermore, you will leave this internship with the knowledge and ability to immediately begin training and coaching at a high level.Although, our internship program only hires three times a year (January, May, and August,) we are always accepting resumes and inquiries. In addition, the Anytime Fitness internship program is very comprehensive and exposes you to many areas in the fitness industry. Below are some of the highlights that you will experience during your internship:Total of 250+ hours of instruction with the Anytime Fitness personal training curriculum in addition too administrative and marketing strategies in a 16-week internship that includes:Team Training (2-10 people)Private TrainingIntroduction to the Functional Movement ScreeningIntroduction to the NASM OPT ModelOverall understanding of a basic dynamic warm-up, corrective exercise, and self-myofascial releaseProper guidance towards attaining the right certifications and continuing education componentsA 16-week course that includes reading, writing, and video reviewsWeekly hands-on learningDevelopment of phone and communication skillsDevelopment of sales skillsThe Anytime Fitness internship will require a minimum of 16 hours a week, including a mandatory 30-minute weekly meeting. This person also ensures that each intern is educated on the personal training structure, daily intern duties, and overall Anytime Fitness mission.DutiesThe internship manager must know the Anytime Fitness Training Program structure and keep all duties of the interns on par with how the club functions and runs.Ensure the interns come ready to work with proper clothing attire and name tag for their shifts.Create tasks and projects that will help increase personal growth of the interns as well as the club, including weekly, monthly and yearly duties.Take attendance and make sure all interns attend meetings.Maintain the internship schedule and manage all time off request and absences.Meet with the District Manager monthly to discuss intern performance, intern interviews, email inquiries, and prepare for any upcoming tasks.Help the District Manager with evaluations at the end of the semester and return to the proper university advisor in a timely manner.All emails must be answered within 24 hours.Receive, manage, and respond to all emails from the interns.Collect all assignments done by the interns and use a folder system to organize and keep track of each intern’s assignments.At the beginning of each semester create a contact list for the intern.Manage weekly cleaning list, placing emphasis on individual tasks for the week that needed added attention.Job Title: Personal Training InternJob Description:At Anytime Fitness we pride ourselves in developing great new trainers through our internship program. We provide our interns with one of the most comprehensive hands-on learning environment in the personal training industry. We will teach not only the exercise physiology aspect of personal training, but also the customer service, business and administrative duties that come with running your own personal training company. Anytime Fitness Personal Training Interns must be knowledgeable in anatomy, physiology and kinesiology and continuing education is a must with the assignments given by the Internship Manager.Duties:Be on time for each shift.Perform daily cleaning and organizational duties that will be delegated before and after each shift.Help assist trainers in One-on-One, Semi-Private, and Team Training.Help coach, instruct, and encourage all clients in both personal and team setting.Attend weekly team meetings.You must take at least one Team Training class per plete all assigned readings, article reviews, and written assignments. Daily duties include but are not limited to: equipment set up and breakdown, coaching and cueing, cleaning stations, and assisting trainers and front desk staff as needed. Assignments:Each month has a focus of study. Month One: Technical Skills Minimum of 15 hours shadowing the Lead Trainer.Introduction to FMS and NASM Assessments.Development of a 6-week training program.Understanding coaching and cueing exercises.Listen to “Go Givers Sell More” by Burg and Mann. All assignments must be turned in on time and there must be evident effort displayed in the completion of each assignment. All reports will be due on the last week day of each month. Weekly Meetings:Everyone is required to attend one weekly team meeting. The meeting dates vary based on the club. Meetings include discussions on various including pay it forwards, monthly specials, current status of goal, monthly events, etc.Evaluations:Evaluations will take place throughout the semester in different ways.Each month each intern will be assessed by the Lead Trainer. The Lead Trainer and Intern will meet in person at the end of each month to evaluate the previous month and set goals for any improvements for the upcoming month.Professional Development:Throughout the semester interns will be required to complete mini assignments related to different aspects of professional development. More information will be provided at a later time.Final Assignment and Practical:At the end of the semester each intern will complete the following:Prospect and generate a minimum of 5 appointments for the Training Manager.Design a 6 week training program for 5 members on the 6 week follow up program.Take the Training Manager or District Manager through the entire sales process.Coach the Lead Trainer through an assessment training session. More details will be given as the semester progresses.Dress: All black athletic pants/short or khaki dress pants/shorts are acceptable. No sweatpants or graphics on pants/shorts. An Anytime Fitness shirt will be given at the initial meeting. Professional collared shirts are also acceptable. Graphics must be kept to a minimum (Nike check, Under Armour logo, etc. We will go over this more at the initial meeting.Cleaning Checklist:Located at each club.Initial when you have completed an item.Finish all of your cleaning responsibilities before leaving.Example Evaluation:Interns will be evaluated at the end of each month by the Lead Trainer, Intern Manager, and District Manager.
