#GivingTuesday was founded by charities and philanthropists to transform how people think about, talk about, and participate in the giving season. It's a counter to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, a chance to focus on people rather than things.

NASPA and the NASPA Foundation will participate in #GivingTuesday this year ? with a special twist. We invite student affairs professionals to make gifts in honor of fellow student affairs friends, colleagues and mentors. Using the hashtag #SAinspire, let people know who inspired you and who you are honoring through your gift. We hope you'll share a video dedication on Instagram or Facebook.

Gifts to the NASPA Foundation support student affairs professionals from across the country. When you give to the NASPA Foundation, you are giving to your student affairs peers ? real people doing real work to make a difference. This year, we're raising money to support an exciting new partnership with NASPA, and a priority of 2016-17 NASPA Board Chair Lori White. How often have you had a new and creative idea for your campus, but the funds are not there? NASPA, in partnership with the NASPA Foundation, is excited to announce the Strategic Innovation Grants Program for just this reason. Conferred twice a year and to be used immediately, the Strategic Innovation Grants provide awards to support innovation, exploration, and development for NASPA members.

With great thanks to Capstone On-Campus Management, we'll be matching gifts on #GivingTuesday! Your gift of $10 turns into $20. Our goal is to have at least 750 people give $10 each on #GivingTuesday. Capstone will match the first $2,500 raised. Along with our friends and colleagues, we can raise $10,000 in just one day. That's enough to fund several Innovation Grants in 2016-17!

Our online donation forms will be specially branded with the #NASPAgives on #GivingTuesday logos. The first 250 gifts of $10 each will be matched dollar for dollar! All NASPA members will receive an email on Tuesday, November 29, inviting them to take part.

Track our progress We'll be promoting a special website throughout the day, where we'll feature a Twitter feed of the tributes and provide regular updates on our matching gift challenge. #NASPAgives on #GivingTuesday ? 2015 results In 2015, #NASPAgives on #GivingTuesday raised $9,920 in just 24 hours. Those gifts came back to the profession as scholarships, awards and grants, including our first ever NASPA Foundation Large Research Grant. Your 2016 gift will help launch our new Strategic Innovation Grants Program, with the first grants available this academic year!
