4th Sunday of Advent

"Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you!" Luke 1:28

After Jesus, we look to Mary as an ideal steward. Her entire life was lived in obedience to God's call. Mary teaches us to live with joy for all we have been given. Just as the moon relects the light of the sun, Mary relects the light of Christ. Like Mary, we are called to relect Christ's light to the world through our gratitude and generosity.

FOURTH SUNDAY OF ADVENT

R 20, 2020

From Father Vordtriede's Desk

Dear Holy Rosary Parishioners,

I hope that you have been able to take this Advent Season to slow down a bit in order to pray and relect. If that has not worked out too well so far, we still have a few days of Advent left! Finishing strong is the most important thing.

We will be setting up the church and the gym for the Christmas Season on Tuesday, December 22nd at 6:00pm. We will meet in church. Our normal Tuesday adoration will be paused for one hour, as I will place the Blessed Sacrament back in the tabernacle from 6:007:00pm, so that we can decorate the church. After resuming adoration at 7:00pm, we will move to the gym and inish setting up there. Pizza will be provided in the gym for all who would love to Bring your families to help us get ready for Christmas!

Christmas Mass Times:

December 24th Christmas Eve: There will be NO 7:30am Confessions or 8:00am Mass this day 4:00pm Mass will be in the GYM 12:00 Midnight Mass will be in the CHURCH

December 25th Christmas Day: 8:00am Mass will be in the CHURCH 10:00am Mass will be in the CHURCH 12:00 Noon Spanish Mass will be in the CHURCH

Normally in Advent we have a seminarian join us to make an appeal for the KenrickGlennon Seminary Christmas Appeal. Due to COVID19, we have not been able to have a seminarian speak to us this year, but please remember our seminary in your Christmas donation. Please use the seminary envelope provided, or place money in a different envelope and mark it "seminary" and drop it in the basket or at the ofice. Thank you for your continued support for priestly vocations!

And speaking of giving, please consider making an "year end" gift to Holy Rosary Parish. I have already sent in mine. Often times, companies will match these gifts for tax purposes, so please consider inding out if your employer will do this. The parish ofice will be closed from Christmas Eve until January 4th, but we will still make sure to deposit any last minute inancial contributions in such a way that you will be able to count them on your 2020 taxes.

May you have a blessed end to your Advent Season and a wonderful Christmas with your fam

Pray the rosary daily.

In Christ, Fr. Vordtriede
