This includes existing projects formerly delivered by Community Lincs (now merged with YMCA Lincolnshire) and new projects. They will work alongside the current Programme Manager for T.E.D. East Lindsey and be expected to work closely with the Youth Projects Manager, Senior Nurseries Manager to identify opportunities for cross departmental delivery.The Communities Manager will oversee the development of innovative, responsive, high-quality services and partnerships that directly meet the needs and interests of communities across Lincolnshire. The post holder will be responsible for planning, managing, and evaluating existing and new services, partnerships, and management of the direct service delivery to communities.Developing delivery plans to ensure community and strategic needs are delivered, the post holder will take day to day responsibility for the management and motivation of staff and volunteers, and grow impact and sustainability for community services. Duties and ResponsibilitiesOperational and Strategic Management in relation to; Responsibility for the overseeing of the management of current Community Services, including:Good Neighbours Schemes;Connected CommunitiesVillage Halls/Community Buildings Advisory ServicesFuel Poverty and Financial Inclusion ServicesCommunity Development ServicesConsultancy ServicesComplete regular DEFRA and ACRE reporting and ensure YMCA Lincolnshire is delivering against defined DEFRA priorities. Ensuing the Communities programmes of work are financially viable and sustainable. Identify and develop viable plans for growth and expansion of Community Services across Lincolnshire, alongside the Director of Communities. Ensure robust outcomes measures and social value impact measures are in place for all services delivered, in line with YMCA Lincolnshire’s policies and individual funding munity Service DevelopmentDevelop and sustain a range of wider Community Services with a cradle to grave focus.Seek partners and funders to assist with sustainability of Community Services and ensure funded programmes achieve stated outcomes/outputs. Develop a range of community engagement outreach opportunities to engage and attract a wider audience and raise the awareness of the YMCA and its services. Income & SustainabilityWorking with Director of Communities to compete for public sector commissioned community related work which is in keeping with the mission of the YMCA. Assist in the development and implementation of new community related servicesTo work with other Department Managers to assist them in relationship management with key partners which will help to maintain or increase income streams. Safeguarding & Risk Management To take a lead on all matters relating to safeguarding of vulnerable adults accessing Community Services, working with the corresponding lead for adult safeguarding to ensure consistency of approach. To take a lead in the management of Health & Safety across all Community Service functions and champion H&S risk management with staff, volunteers and customers.Data, Reporting and AnalysisTo hold overall GDPR and confidentiality responsibility for Community Services ensuring full complianceTo develop and maintain systems for tracking outcomes and outputs related to community programmes, including the use of outcome tracking systems. To ensure that detailed information is stored on projects to ensure detailed reporting to funders is maintained.People ManagementTo be responsible for the overall management, development and assessment of the Community teams. To work with the HR Manager to ensure that job descriptions, goals and objectives are set and performance appraisals are conducted for each member of the team.To be a visible and consistent leader, leading by example, setting clear professional boundaries and values for our people. Teamwork & InclusivityTo build and maintain strong relationships with the wider Community Development Service, supporting the Director of Community Development to ensure the charity delivers an integrated and joined up service. Work with the wider YMCA team seeking consensus on plans to meet operational service delivery before bids are submitted.To assist when necessary with customer complaints, comments and enquiries relating to projects you are managing.Ensuring all service users have equal opportunities with regard to their religious persuasion, racial origins, gender, disabilities, cultural or linguistic background; in particular, challenging situations where racism or discrimination is displayed.Any other duties which may be required within the scope of the post.Person Specification Knowledge & ExperienceSubstantial knowledge and experience of community development work.Experience of people and programme management.A strong desire and passion to work with, support and develop communities across Lincolnshire; and an astute awareness of issues facing Lincolnshire communities, both from a rural and urban context.The ability to effectively engage communities, with excellent communication and organisational skillsExperience of completing successful funding applications and achieving sustainable services within a third sector environment.An understanding and awareness of the challenges presented by rurality and experience of bespoke delivery in hard-to-reach areas. Experience of performance management and managing HR processes.Understanding and awareness of safeguarding practices and evidenced ability to practically apply polices into practice.The genuine ability and willingness to work flexibly, including at times evenings and weekendsProven experience of developing and managing high performing, compassionate teamsProven ability to evaluate and drive change across the business to translate business requirements into actionable plans and petencies & Qualifications Required:Highly energised and motivated, high level of commitment and passionate about achieving a sustainable legacy for Lincolnshire YMCA.Results driven with good business judgement - good commercial understandingGood IT skills and ability to collate and collect data on outcomes and impactAbility to work under pressure, in a target driven environment.Strong People leadership skills with previous team management experience being essential and the ability to motivate others to deliver.Strong project management skills.Ability to build strong relationships and partnerships relevant to the development of the charity’s profile and strategic aims.
