FSU overcomes 21-0 deficit to beat Louisville 42-31”If you’re a college football fan, you missed one of the best comebacks of the year. Florida State, defending national champion, was not playing their game and found themselves down 21-0 late in the second quarter. Many saw a big upset coming, but Florida State wasn’t going to let that happen. Louisville hasn’t beaten FSU since 2002, where they beat them 26-20. Jameis Winston, last years Heisman trophy winner didn’t start the game out like the best player in college football. He threw three interceptions to start, but later made up for it throwing three touchdowns and running for two more. Quiet a game right? "That was another heck of a football game. Fun to watch, wasn't it?” Jimbo fisher said. Florida State is the last team in college football to worry when trailing a team. They have trailed a lot this season and came out on top every game, so far. They trailed North Carolina State earlier this year 24-7, and mostly everyone remembers the national championship last year when they trailed Auburn 21-3 and came onto win 34-31. For those non-sports fans or people that don’t follow college football, Florida State plays in the ACC conference. Some familiar names in that same conference are Duke, Clemson, Virginia and Wake Forest. Many sports critics look at this as a very good conference in all sports, including women’s. As a football critic I don’t believe that this conference is as good as the PAC 12 or the SEC. I truly believe that Florida State is overrated, even though many would call me crazy. Yes they have the Heisman trophy winner from last year and one of the best quarterbacks in college football, but when watching them I don’t believe they are the team the were last year. If you’re a Florida State fan, you are very happy looking at the rest of the schedule seeing there aren’t any “great” teams left. But as we have seen this far, FSU has pulled some games out that many didn’t think they would. If they win out, they will go to the national championship for the second year in a row. As far as Louisville goes, they were very disappointed as a team, especially with a lead like that. "It's a tough loss that hurts a lot," Louisville coach Bobby Petrino said. "We got ahead of them and had opportunities. You've got to give Florida State credit when they were able to make plays when the pressure was on." Anyone watching the game thought Louisville had the game in the bag, but Florida State started playing like the defending national champions and they knew it. "It's very disappointing," cornerback Charles Gaines said. "Jameis Winston is an outstanding quarterback. He made a lot of checks and had us guessing." This shows the respect they had for the player Jameis Winston is, even not playing his best game. They knew going into the game they would have to play a full game to beat them. So what does that mean for Winston and the Heisman race? We all know he isn’t having the statistical year he did last year and how hard it is to win the Heisman two years in a row. Many think University Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. Amongst him in the race for the top player in college football are Melvin Gordon, Dak Prescott, Trevone Boykin, and Amari Cooper. Mariota is leading the race, but he has some tough games left, including this week at Utah, who has one of if not the best defense in the PAC 12. Mariota is trying to lead the Ducks to a PAC 12 championship as well as they have only lost one game in conference play to Arizona. As the college football season is over half way over, we are starting to see things get interesting. Will Florida State stay unbeaten and be on their way to a second national title? Or will someone get in their way and knock them off track. Not only will we be closely watching to see how the season unfolds for teams but also individual players. Heisman hopefuls can see themselves holding the trophy, representing the best college football player in the nation. Who will it be in the end? Only time will tell as these players not only have to keep putting up good numbers, but their team needs to keep winning as well. We all know how good your team is helps your votes in the end. I know one thing is for sure, each week is important and if you overlook it, you can slowly see your dreams being crushed. Work CitedWatson, Graham.
