Work includes a roof replacement at Founders Hall and roof repairs at Chapman Hall at Middlesex Community College in Middletown and emergency/minor capital projects as needed.

Project: Funds approved to award a construction contract for bathroom renovations at Enfield Correctional Institution (BI-JA-439). Consists of bathroom renovations in buildings C, D, E, and G, and includes selective demolition, new fixtures, finishes, flooring, plumbing, electrical work and HVAC improvements.

These functions will be transferred from their current location to 10 Clinton Street, Hartford, to a state-owned site at 9 Windsor Avenue, Windsor, that houses other DEP laboratory operations in a separate building.

Project: Funds approved to finance repairs and improvements at various Department of Mental Retardation facilities (BI-NN-1000). DPW REQUESTS FOR QUALIFICATIONS (RFQ) FOR ARCHITECTURAL / ENGINEERING AND PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES

The state Department of Public Works has been authorized to retain consultants/firms to work on the contracts/projects described below.

Qualification submittal deadline: Feb. 14, 2007.

INTERIOR DESIGN CONSULTANT: Contract Number: SF-2B-250. For the Connecticut State University System Office boardroom interior design, located at 39 Woodland Street, Hartford, CT. The anticipated cost for the construction of this project is $350,000.

ON-CALL ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT CONSULTANTS: Contract Number: OC-DPW-EPA-0012-0014. At various locations.

ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSULTANT DESIGN TEAM: Contract Number: CF-RS-273-ARC. For a new parking garage at Lot #7 at Southern Connecticut State University in New Haven. The garage will accommodate 1200 vehicles in the West Campus, adjacent to the Moore Field House. Also includes a pedestrian bridge to link the Field House with the garage, four elevators, parking for persons with disabilities, and spaces for wheel chair lift vans. The construction budget for this project is estimated at $22,000,000.

ON-CALL CIVIL ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS: Contract Number: OC-DPW-CIV-0014-0017. At various locations statewide.

ON-CALL STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING CONSULTANTS: Contract Number: OC-DPW-STR-0014-0017. At various locations statewide.

ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSULTANT DESIGN TEAM: Contract Number: BI-FP-008B-ARC. For the expansion of maintenance and burn building facilities for the Hartford Regional Fire School at the Connecticut Fire Academy, 34 Perimeter Road, Windsor Locks, CT. This project will include the design and construction of a Class “A” concrete burn building, a multi-purpose maintenance/storage building, and several rescue training facilities, a trench rescue training station, and a fire extinguisher training station facility. The new structures will be located on adjacent property requiring new underground utilities. The construction budget is approximately $3,200,000.
