YOUTH SERVED Females adjudicated as juvenile delinquents between the ages of 12 and18, placed by the New York State Family Courts.

BUDGETED CAPACITY 25

PHYSICAL PLANT Two one-story buildings and a shed on forty acres, including a softball field, running track and picnic area. Main building houses administrative offices, school and living unit. Gym building houses gym, administrative offices and classroom as well as a computer lab.

SERVICES PROVIDED Counseling

Mental health counseling is provided by on-site Psychologist and Federation Employment and Guidance Services (FEGS) for both individual and group counseling. The drug and alcohol counseling is provided by Accesso, which is an OASAS provider. The Youth Counselor 1 also provides weekly counseling and the Youth Division Aides mentor the youth.

Education

General education, remedial education and employment are provided by the facility education staff.

Vocational

Youth are trained in job readiness and all youth leave the program with a portfolio.

Health Services

Winthrop Hospital Clinic provides health services and dental services are provided by Direct Dental.

Recreational

The facility’s Recreational Specialist provides recreation programs as well as gym.

Religious Services

Religious services are provided by a local church every Tuesday evening.
