Hon. Sylvia Ash

Prior to her election as Judge of the Civil Court in Kings County, Judge Sylvia Ash was a practicing attorney for over twenty years. She worked as a Supervising Attorney and Chief Counsel in the Legal Department of District Council 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, where she provided quality legal services to the 125,000 municipal employees represented by the union. Judge Ash was a former Judicial Law Clerk and General Counsel for the NAACP's Department of Social Services. Judge Ash received her Juris Doctorate Degree from Howard University School of Law in 1984.

Angel L. Audiffred

Angel L. Audiffred is a Bronx native who was raised, along with his brother, in the Castle Hill area. Mr. Audiffred graduated from F.I.T. SUNY in 2000. As an undergraduate, he participated in the Harvard Business School's summer management program and completed a fellowship at the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute in Washington, D.C. His fianc?e Irma and he now reside in Kew Gardens, Queens. Mr. Audiffred was the Communications Director for the Majority Leader of the New York City Council and is currently chief of staff to Councilmember Julissa Ferreras of Queens.

Mark S. Brantley, Esq.

Mark S. Brantley is currently a member of the MCU board and has held the positions of Budget Chairman and Treasurer. He also serves on the Fiscal and Coordinating Committees. Mr. Brantley is the Chief Administrative Officer for the N.Y. County Clerk's Office. He holds a law degree and is admitted to the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Southern Districts, and the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Brantley was also an administrative law judge for the City of New York. An ordained minister, Mr. Brantley is married and has a 2-year-old daughter.

Almeta Coaxum

Since 1998, Almeta Coaxum has been a Principal Administrative Associate at the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services' Unemployment Division. Prior to joining DCAS, she was a Hospital Care Investigator at Harlem Hospital Center in the Department of Patient Accounts. She holds an Associate's Degree in Business Administration, as well as a certificate in lobbying techniques. She is a native New Yorker and resident of Manhattan. Ms. Coaxum is currently the President of the Malcolm X Blvd. Tenant Association, has volunteered with the American Red Cross, and is a Campaign Captain at DCAS for the Combined Municipal Campaign fund.

Shirley G. Jenkins

Shirley Jenkins has been a member of the Municipal Credit Union for more than 40 years. Elected in 1983 to MCU's board with the highest number of votes, she was the first female board President in 90 years. She served as board Secretary for 22 years and is currently a Director. She serves on the Membership and Coordinating Committees, as MCU's Legislative Chair and Pension Trustee. She assisted in organizing the African-American Credit Union Coalition, served on the National Directors Advisory Panel, and was inducted into the New York State Credit Union Hall of Fame in 2005. Ms. Jenkins retired from the NYC Dept. of Housing Preservation and Development in 1984 and is currently president of Solid Gold Travel. She is known and respected worldwide in the credit union movement.

Samuel Nana Osei-Bonsu

Samuel Nana Osei-Bonsu works for the Department of Homeless Services and possesses over 25 years of work experience in the governmental, private, international and banking sectors as a Contract Manager, a Management Development Consultant to the United Nations Development Program, Director of Projects Development for the Ghana Cooperative Bank and as a Research Fellow at the University of Nigeria. He has also served as a PTA president at CS 44 in the Bronx and as a member of Bronx Community Board 6. He has proven leadership, managerial, financial management, and budgeting skills. He received an MPA from NYU, an MA from The Hague, a BSN from Pace University and a BA from the University of Science and Technology in Ghana.
