A gift for such a little while, your loss just seems so wrong, you should not have left before us, it's with loved ones you belong. No farewell words were spoken,

no time to say goodbye, you were gone before we knew it,

and only God knows why.

From the Family of Latrese D. Gibson

The family of the late Latrese D. Gibson would like to express our sincere thanks for all of the calls, cards, visits, flowers and the many

other acts of kindness rendered during our time of bereavement. May God richly bless each of you.

Reflections of Her Life

Ms. Latrese Dominique Gibson was born February 29, 1996 in Augusta, Georgia. She was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 29, 2017.

"Trese", as she was affectionately known, loved her family and friends. But most importantly, she loved God. She was a funloving, warm, spirited young lady who always spoke her mind.

She was a proud graduate of Lower Richland High School, Class of 2015. She was a junior at Claflin University where she was majoring in Political Science. Trese had aspirations of being an attorney. She was a member of the Political Science Club and the Young Democrats Club. She loved learning and helping others.

Latrese leaves to cherish beautiful memories and special moments, her parents, Nathan and Marie Gibson; a brother, Nathan A. Gibson; and four sisters: Crystal E. Gibson-Brown, Betsy Gibson of Columbia, South Carolina, Brittany Gibson, and Stephanie Gibson of Gadsden, South Carolina. She also leaves one niece, Taliya Brown, and three nephews: Jalen Gibson, Tyles, and Rumir Brown, all of Columbia, South Carolina; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many dear friends that loved and cherished her.

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free I'm following the path God has laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day,

To laugh, to love, to work, or play, I found the peace at the close of the day.

If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joys. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Oh yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My life's been full, I savored much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch, Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and peace to thee God wanted me now; He set me free.
