Before the opening session, check out the orientation resource fair. Through-

out Busch House, campus offices and organizations will be on hand to tell you

more about what they offer. Light refreshments will be provided.

The Digital Flagship initiative -- 220 Sullivant Hall

The Digital Flagship initiative supports student success, both in and out of the

classroom, by integrating technology throughout the university experience.

In this session, you'll learn about the devices, apps, support and training

available to help you transition to college life.

Academic overview and scheduling preparation Learn more about your area of study directly from academic advisors. Family members are encouraged to join students for this session.

Need to take a placement test or talk with a math advisor? Want to check out a

residence hall? Use this time to take care of business on campus. The checklist

below can help you keep track of what you need to do.

c Chat with an FYE Peer Leader -- Ohio Union, near Woody's Tavern

c Complete a foreign language placement exam -- 180 Hagerty Hall beginning at 3:30 p.m.; last test begins at 4:30 p.m.

Exams are available in Arabic, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish and Swahili. Bring your iPad!

c Explore math options, including honors courses -- 240 Cockins Hall 3:30?4:30 p.m. (drop-in)

Chat with a faculty member about your mathematics course options based on your math placement exam results, AP or IB credit, or transfer credit.

c Get your BuckID -- Ohio Union If you submitted your photo online, you can pick up your BuckID with your orientation student profile and government-issued photo ID (driver's license, military ID, passport, etc.) at the information desk on the first floor before 4:30 p.m. If you did not submit your photo online, you'll need the same documents to receive your university ID in the BuckID office (3040 Ohio Union), which will close at 4:30 p.m. today.

c Take a residence hall open house tour beginning at 3:30 p.m.; last tour begins at 5:15 p.m.

Tours are available at Smith-Steeb Hall (south campus) and Morrill Tower (west campus).

c Take the math placement exam -- 585 Student Academic Services Building beginning at 3:30 p.m.; last test begins at 4:30 p.m.

If you didn't complete the assessment before orientation, arrange to do so today.

Fisher family session -- 319 Schoenbaum Hall

For families of Fisher College of Business students. Learn about support

resources and programs offered by Fisher and discuss how families can part-

ner with Fisher to encourage their student's academic and personal success.

About the evening of Day One

n

Encourage your student to experience the evening independently so they can

connect with their new college peers in a relaxed, social environment. At the

end of evening activities, families can reconnect with students at Taylor Tower

at a family-designated time.

Dinner -- Union Market, Ohio Union

Meal cards, cash and credit cards accepted. Dining solo? Join other

students and Peer Leaders at the Union Market for a group meal after

grabbing your food.

Get involved -- U.S. Bank Conference Theater, Ohio Union

Peer Leader group meeting -- departs from U.S. Bank Conference Theater

Join your Peer Leader and fellow students to discuss campus resources,

transitioning to university life and Ohio State traditions.

Evening activities -- North Recreation Center and Taylor Tower

Relax with your Peer Leader and other new Buckeyes and enjoy sports, board

games, crafts, karaoke and a mixer for students of color and friends.

Parking on Day Two Park in the Tuttle Park Place Parking Garage at 2050 Tuttle Park Place. You can purchase parking ahead of time at go.osu.edu/daytwoparking for a slight discount. Otherwise, you can pay the normal daily rate at the garage pay stations near the elevators.

Meet with a Student Life Disability Services staff member to learn more

about registering with Disability Services and the accommodations and

services available at Ohio State. A Welcome Meeting covering your specific

accommodations will be scheduled after you've applied for and provided

documentation for accommodations.

Honors and Scholars Center family session -- 250 Knowlton Hall

Families of students in an Honors or Scholars program will receive an overview

of the Honors and Scholars Center, explore some common challenges first-

year, high ability students face, and discuss ways to support a student's

transition to college.

The transition to college can be difficult, and the stress of "getting a job" looms over students (and families!) well before it's time to apply. This session will explore the resources available to help smooth the transition to college and the career-focused steps students can take in their first year.

c Get vaccinated by Student Health Services -- Wilce Student Health Center Learn more about the Wilce Student Health Center's services -- including vaccinations. Available vaccinations include MenACWY (meningococcal conjugate), Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and acellular pertussis), MMR (measles, mumps and rubella), varicella (chickenpox) and hepatitis B.

c Get your BuckID -- 3040 Ohio Union You'll need government-issued photo identification (driver's license, military ID, passport, etc.) and your orientation student profile to receive your university ID. The BuckID office will close at 4:30 p.m. today.

c Grab a bite to eat at the Faculty Club Families and students can enjoy lunch, dinner and more than 60 special events each year at the Faculty Club. Stop by during orientation and enjoy lunch on us with the purchase of a membership. Family memberships are $175 per year, and lunch hours are from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

c Learn more about Sorority and Fraternity Life -- 2100 Ohio Union staff and students available to chat until 1 p.m.
