Principal's Message

Tell Them From Me Parent Survey I would like to say a huge thank you to our community for completing this survey. I am going to say an `advanced' thank you to those of you who will complete this before the end of the term. Once the term ends, your responses will not be included. I thank my beautiful students who have reminded parents/carers to complete this survey. This is absolutely working! Some parents have commented that their children kept reminding them so they made sure they completed the survey. Please feel free to complete the paper copy that has been sent home and then return it to the office. This survey can also be completed online. Simply enter the following URL in the address bar:

Enrolment Policy You may be aware from news coverage that the Department of Education has implemented a new Enrolment Policy. Minchinbury Public School, like all other NSW DoE schools, has been required to update our Enrolment Policy. A copy of the policy is included in this newsletter. A copy of a fact sheet for parents/carers is also included. Changes to note are:

? the implementation of a `100 point check' for proof of address; ? the process surrounding the school's ability to accept students who live outside of our drawing area. Any family wishing to enrol their child at Minchinbury Public School still communicates and works with our office staff. Happy Holidays I will not be at MPS for the last three days of the term. I am travelling with a group of principals to Finland to visit schools in Finland and discuss the Finnish education system. I will return at the beginning of next term. Mrs Bourke will be Relieving Principal in my absence. Kind regards,

Miss Rebecca Webster

Public Speaking Competition

Congratulations to all of our students for participating in our annual public speaking competition. Each student in each class had an opportunity to present a speech in front of their classmates. Class representatives were then selected from the class competitors. Our competition was held last week. The students whose names appear at the top of each box are our grade winners for 2019.
