1. Canada-China Friendship Award

Awarded annually, by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research, to an outstanding graduate student entering or proceeding from one year to another in any program of study who has demonstrated an interest in issues relating to Canada/Greater China relations. Endowed in 2007 by Michael Dagg, BA/69

2. Canada-China Friendship Bursary for Ontario Students

Awarded annually to either an undergraduate student or a graduate student entering or proceeding from one year to another in any program of study who has demonstrated an interest in issues relating to Canada/Greater China relations.  Should the recipient be a graduate student, the award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research. Eligible recipients will be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), must meet the OSAP Ontario residency requirements and must demonstrate financial need. Endowed in 2007 by Michael Dagg, BA/69

3. Allen-Dormond Developing Countries Research Award for Ontario Students

Awarded annually, by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, to a graduate student pursuing research on problems faced by developing countries and their relations with Canada. (Criteria used to distinguish developing countries will be that established by the World Bank). Preference is given to students who intend to travel to the developing world for research related to their thesis. Eligible recipients must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), and must meet the Ontario Residency Requirements set forth by OSAP. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need. Department nominations for this award must include the OTSS form, as well as a statement from the student describing their research as well as any plans to travel to the developing world. Endowed in 2007 by the Taylor-Ebanks Family in memory of their mothers and grandmothers Ines Allen and Luz Dormond for their inspiration and constant support to those in need.

4. Ina Hutchison Memorial Bursary in Geography

Awarded annually, by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, to students undertaking research in geography. Eligible recipients must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), and must meet the Ontario Residency Requirements set forth by OSAP. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need. Department nominations for this award must include the OTSS form, as well as a statement from the student describing their research. 5. Dick Dillon Memorial Scholarship

Awarded annually to an outstanding student entering or proceeding from one year to another in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, in the psychology program. Recipients will be involved in research in the Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) area of the department of psychology. Should the recipient be a graduate student, the scholarship will be awarded by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research. Endowed 2004 by family, friends and colleagues of Dick Dillon, a former professor in the Department of Psychology.

6. William and Jean Teron Graduate Scholarship

Value domestic tuition. Awarded annually when merited, to an exceptional student entering the first-year of the Masters of Architecture program. The scholarship will be awarded by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research on the recommendation of the Director of the School of Architecture and the Teron Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is renewable at full tuition for year two of the Masters in Architecture program, provided the recipient achieves an A standing in studio. Preference will be given to a resident of Ontario. Established in 2007 by William and Jean Teron.

7. Graduate Scholarship in Northern Research

Awarded annually, on the recommendation of the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies, to a graduate student who is conducting northern research. Students must submit an application, which includes a description of their intended or ongoing thesis research to the Chair of the Graduate Studies Committee by March 1 of each year. Established in 2002 by Thomas L. White, Ph.D. (Carleton) in Earth Sciences and former Director of the Geotechnical Science Laboratories at Carleton University.

8. William Barton Award in Arms Control and Disarmament (Amended terms)

Awarded annually to a graduate student entering or proceeding from one year to another who is pursuing research in the area of International Security, Arms Control or Disarmament. The recipient will be selected, based on academic merit, on the recommendation of the Director of the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs. Endowed 2005 by William Barton, C.M.

9. Graduate Award for Research in Dementia

Awarded annually by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research on the recommendation of the departmental chairs and school directors, to graduate student(s) entering or continuing in a program of study, who are pursuing research in dementia. Endowed in 2007 from an anonymous bequest.

10. Graduate Award for Ontario Students for Research in Dementia

Awarded annually by the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research on the recommendation of the departmental chairs and school directors, to graduate student(s) entering or continuing in a program of study, who are pursuing research in dementia. Eligible recipients must be Canadian Citizens or permanent residents of Canada (landed immigrant or a protected person), and must meet the Ontario Residency Requirements set forth by OSAP. Recipients must also demonstrate financial need. Endowed in 2007 from an anonymous bequest.

11. Dr. George A. Jeletzky Memorial Scholarship

Awarded annually by the Dean of Graduate Studies and Research, on the recommendation of the Chair of the Department of Earth Sciences, to an outstanding graduate student(s) in the Department of Earth Sciences who is pursuing studies in the field of paleontology. Endowed in 2006 by the Estate of Tamara Jeletzky.
