We encourage campers to tap into their strengths and then we recognize their achievements.We want our campers to play, get dirty, explore nature, make friends and discover themselves as a member of our camp community. Camp activities include sports, environmental educa? tion, theme afternoons, outdoor adventures of fishing and pond exploration, arts and crafts, swimming and guest speakers. Our campers are encouraged to try new things, learn new skills and develop old skills.Wehave activities and staff that will, without a doubt, bring out the best in each camper this summer!The most important factor of summer camp is the staff. No matter how many activities or special events are offered, it is the background, enthusiasm and personality of each staff member that determines whether or not camp is fun, exciting and safe.Our counselors are selected according to their experience and interest in working with children. Our staff is enthusiastic, well trained, safety conscious and they truly care about kids. They are trained to encourage team building and create an environment where campers feel that anything is possible .Each counselor is required to participate in our camp training program before becoming a member of our staff. All participants complete a training program and rehearsal to prepare the staff to carry out their responsibilities in emergency situations .Activities2017 Camp dates- June 19 -August 18, 2017.Optional 10th Week of Camp (extra fee applies) August 21- August 25,2017.Daily camp from 7:50AM until5:15 PM.Daily transportation is NOT available.All employees screened in accordance with Township and American Camp Association policies.Before/After care NOT available -this is not a daycare program.Parent/Guardian must use pickup passes.Lunch is not provided. In the morning half of the teens will participate in the CIT Program, while the others participate in camp activities. During the afternoon, the teens will all get to eat lunchTeen Day Trips:Palace Roller Skatingtogether and switch roles for the rest of the day. In an environment created just for teens, they will learn real life skills, develop self-esteem and gain a sense of independence and community. If your teen decides not to become a camp counselor, the skills they are given will be used to be successful in life. In this program they will be given opportunities to grow as leaders and individuals through hands-on, team-building exercises, along with speakers and certifications on many topics, such as: Emergency evacuation, identifying poison ivy, and many more. During the Teen Camp portion of the day, teens will have down time to hang out with their friends, play games and participate in many supervised activities, including swimming and weekly field trips! After meeting the goals of the program our Upper Southampton Township Board of Supervisors will honor the teens with a certifi? cate. A Camp Newsletter is emailed each week during camp outlin? ing the daily activities, special events and guest speakers for the week.PERSONAL BELONGINGSCampers should wear comfortable play clothes, socks, sneakers and sunscreen. Please dress in weather-appropriate clothing (sweatshirts, raincoats, etc.). No open-toed shoes, sandals or flip-flops - for safety reasons. LABEL ALL YOUR CHILD'S ITEMS SENT TO CAMP. Please donot send toys, games, cards, etc. to camp; we are not responsible for these items. If you choose to send in electronic devices with your child please include these items on your Homeowners insurance policy; the camp will not be responsible for the loss or damage of any personal property brought to camp. Our staff is not trained to administer medications of any kind.TRIPS AND CAMP SHIRTTrips and camp shirt are included in the camp fee. The camp shirt is required to be worn on all trips. If you choose not to send your child on a trip you must keep your child home that day. Youth and teen trips do not have the same schedule. Trip details will be sent home the Friday prior to each trip. Use the standard camp times for drop off and pickup.DROP-OFF/ PICKUP PROCEDURESCamp runs 7:50AM to5:15 PM Mondaythru Friday. If you are late picking up your child one minute past 5:15 PM you will be charged $20 cash for every 15 minutes- we are not a daycare. When picking up your child you will be required to display the pickup pass received after all the necessary paperwork has been handed in. Each camper's safety is our number one priority and the pickup passes help ensure that your child does not go home with any unauthorized person.
