I successfully completed the SUSI on Journalism and Media at Ohio University in July 4 to August 16, 2013. INSPIRE Research Fellow 2012 (UK): As an INSPIRE research fellow, I visited Goldsmiths, University of London in April 2013 and presented a paper on “Media Coverage of Environmental Issues in Bangladesh: Trends and Outlook”. Bangladesh Film Archive Research Fellow 2012Bangladesh Freedom Foundation (BFF) Research Fellow 2012University Grant Commission Bangladesh Research Fellow (2010)NOMA (Norway) Research Fellow 2010 Relevant Activities: Made an action plan for media campaign on communication strategy as a partial precondition of the course. The theme was-`The media strategy to create awareness in Bangladesh on Arsenic issue`. As part of the campaign, crafted a documentary (27 min.) considering the policy makers as target audience.Research monograph made as a partial precondition of the course. The theme was-`The newspaper strategy to create awareness in Bangladesh on Arsenic issue`. Awarded for the fellowship (2005) on journalism by the Family Planning Association of Bangladesh (FPAB). Organized three short-scale research works as of the topics were- 1. The threats of AIDS on Bangladeshi housewives. 2. The interest and the apathy of male on usage of family planning procedures. 3. The risk factors of contraceptives on female pleted a special course on “Advanced Journalism: Theory and Practice”, conducted by Fulbright Professor Janet E. Steel of The George Washington University.Participated a daylong seminar on “International Humanitarian Law and Conflict Reporting”, organized by the international committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).Presented the keynote paper on ‘HIV/AIDS: Bangladesh Scenario and Media Concern’ in a seminar, held on 25th May 2006, arranged by UODA, chaired by Vice-Chancellor of UODA Professor Emajuddin Ahmed. Presented the keynote paper on ‘Impact of television on the children” in the International Children Film Festival, 2010.Participated three days long seminar on “International Humanitarian Law and Conflict Reporting”, organized by the international committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the Mass Communication & Journalism Department of Dhaka University.Participated three days long workshop on “Reporting on Budget”, organized by the World Bank Institute and the Mass Communication & Journalism Department of Dhaka University.Research:Conducted a research on ‘The Symbiotic Relationship between Media and Terrorism: Critical Study on Bangladesh’ funded by Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) DMP.
