You have an appointment for an ultrasound of one of these body parts:
• Pancreas, Liver, Gallbladder, Ducts, Spleen
EIGHT hours before the exam:
• Do not eat, drink, smoke, or chew gum (smoking and chewing gum causes air in the abdomen which limits image quality)
• You may take required medicine with a small amount of water
• If you are diabetic, you may have clear, non-carbonate liquids such as apple juice, Gatorade, Jell-O, or fat free broth.
• Please notify staff at check in if you are diabetic
Please check in to MRI/ Ultrasound Room 105, located in the basement tunnel at your scheuled appointment time.
