Instructions for HP Smart Document Scanner [1]

1. Press Sleep Mode Button on scanner to begin (Far Left Button)

2. On computer screen, click HP Smart Document Scanner Icon in bottom left of screen

3. Click on “scan to My Documents”

4. In Dialog Box, select one of three Scan Resolution Options:

a. Black and White PDF 200 DPI (Recommended)

b. Black and White PDF 300 DPI

c. Black and White PDF 600 DPI

5. In Dialog Box, select Paper Source:

a. Flatbed Glass – For Books, etc. to be Scanned on Glass Scanner Bed

b. Simplex – For One-sided Documents

c. Duplex – For Two-Sided Documents

6. Ensure that document is placed securely in scanner tray and click Scan Button in Computer Window

a. Paper goes in holder “face up”

b. Ensure the holder is snug against the edges of the paper

c. Can place materials directly on glass to scan

7. Click on Scan

8. When finished, click Done Scanning

9. May rotate or move pages before saving document

10. Files immediately directed to My Documents

a. Create File Name/Title for document

b. May create new, personal folder to save documents to or use existing My Documents folder

11. After you have saved files to flash drive or emailed them (use Webmail), delete files from the computer.

12. Before leaving scanner, press PowerSave/Sleep Mode button firmly to ensure unit is turned off. Do not leave on.

13. Leave computer on.
