Add the shrimp, the sausage, the rice, the broth (minus the solid material), and the seasonings. Cover and cook for 30 to 40 minutes; stir frequently. Make sure that the rice doesn't cement itself to the bottom of the pan. Add liquid if the mixture starts to dry out. Remove from heat, add the remaining scallions and parsley, and serve. ................
