Foundry is a 114 year old church with a history of being "In the heart of Bend, with a heart for Bend." As a multi-generational church, consisting of saints of all ages, our fondest goal is to have the Holy Spirit lead us into deeper community with each other so that we can exemplify the love of Christ to those who do not yet know Him. Our hope is to add a Family Pastor who shares that vision and can help us bring up our younger generation alongside us in following Christ's plan. Sincerely, Foundry Church Search Committee

I. History

Established in October of 1904, we were the first church organized in Bend. Five years ago, the name was changed from First Baptist to Foundry with the intent to remove potential barriers between us and the community. Our commitment has always been to preach the Word of God faithfully.

Foundry has had three different buildings. The present worship center was built in 1969. There have been a number of remodeling projects. The most recent (2003) added a courtyard outside and an elevator inside.

Through the years the church has mothered a number of churches, two in Bend, Eastmont church (1980) and Antioch (2006). At least three other churches have been formed in nearby communities. A demographic shift occurred after several young families left to be part of the Antioch church plant.

Non-budgeted Faith Promise giving has supplied an additional $21,000 for missions. We have a long track record of spending less than what was budgeted and, for the last two years, have exceeded our projected income.

The building also houses thirteen classrooms, a fellowship hall, kitchen, and multiple storage rooms. The church also has a small, undeveloped piece of land nearby that is currently used for overflow parking. Throughout the week, multiple community groups utilize our building rent-free.

Office Building and Staff We have office space for five staff members. There is also one office in the church building for the Facilities Director.
