Eli McIlveen is the creator, lead writer and director of Alba Salix.

Eli has been recording strange noises since he first ¡°borrowed¡± his dad¡¯s

cassette player as a kid. He spent five years at CKMS-FM (University of

Waterloo) producing a sketch comedy series, and later, a weekly radio theatre

showcase. Since then he¡¯s been sound designer for a raft of theatre

productions in Toronto, where he met many of the Alba cast.

He¡¯s also interviews producer for the podcast Radio Drama Revival, a dialogue

editor for Aural Stage Studios and 11th Hour Audio, and has appeared

in several other shows, playing a variety of humans and invertebrates.

He lives in Hamilton, Ontario with Sean, his partner of 19 years.

Sean Howard

Sean began as a line producer on Season 1 of Alba Salix. He was responsible for

managing the cast, setting schedules and coordinating budgets, as well as

fundraising and marketing.

Sean is a recovering juggler, and has dabbled in theatre as both a performer

and a lighting designer. He is new to the audio world, but is a podcast addict of

the highest order.

Sean brings his 20+ years of marketing and advertising experience to Alba

Salix. He co-directed The Axe & Crown, and is a writer on Season 2 of Alba.

He lives in Hamilton, Ontario with Eli, his partner of 19 years.

Farloria¡¯s Royal Physician has her work cut out for her. As head witch and the

only regular staff member at the new House of Healing, Alba¡¯s got an endless

lineup of patients and a bickering King and Queen to please.

Fortunately, help is on the way. Unfortunately, that help is from Magnus, a

troublesome young ex-monk and aspiring surgeon, and Holly, an accidentprone fairy herbalist.

As LGBTQ+ creators, we believe representation matters.

We want more stories where queer characters and those from

other marginalized groups have prominent, positive roles, and

we hope to push toward that goal with every project.

Timeline

We started Alba out of a love for audio drama, at a time when most independent producers in the medium were toiling

in obscurity. Inspired by books like Terry Pratchett¡¯s Discworld novels and radio comedy like Undone, Nebulous and

ElvenQuest, we set out to make a high-quality fantasy series with a female lead.

Season 1 premiered in November 2014. Episode 4, ¡°A Chance to Cure¡±, won gold at the 2015 Mark Time Awards. After

feature interviews on showcase podcasts The Sonic Society and Radio Drama Revival, our listenership began to

skyrocket. Our Season 2 Indiegogo campaign raised over $4,000, allowing us to launch the spin-off series The Axe &

Crown. The new season of Alba is currently in production, and is slated for release in the summer of 2018.
