An independent media production and small-press publishing company, founded by Trevor Van Winkle

HISTORY

Homestead on the Corner began in June 2017 as a storytelling blog. In 2019, Trevor Van Winkle published his first novel, The Gr?zland Tales, and began a 10-part anthology series of audio fiction stories and writing lessons under the original podcast, Homestead on the Corner.

In 2020, the spinoff series The Sheridan Tapes premiered. In 2021, the second season of The Sheridan Tapes began, and the company plans to release a second novel by Van Winkle, Selkie, as well as an additional HOTC spinoff series, Tales of the Echowood (August 2021).

MISSION STATEMENT

The Homestead on the Corner mission is to create high-quality, accessible storytelling, prioritizing stories that focus on justice, equity, diversity, community, and unheard voices. The intent of our platform is to set up creators for success, providing them with opportunities, and giving open access to tools, education, and inspiration for a wide variety of creative endeavors.

Trevor Van Winkle Founder, Producer, Writer

Trevor Van Winkle was raised in southern Oregon. He attended Biola University, where he majored in Cinema and Media Arts with an emphasis in Production. In 2017, he founded Homestead on the Corner as a personal storytelling blog, and expanded into audio fiction podcasting in 2019. Following the beginning of the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, he created the spinoff series The Sheridan Tapes as a way to stay creative in isolated times.

Virginia Spotts Producer, Writer (The Sheridan Tapes Season 2)

Besides her college experience in Theatre Performance and Creative Writing, Virginia has worked on indie film and stage productions in Albuquerque, Kansas City, Seattle, and Mammoth Lakes. Notable productions include Molly in the world premiere of ShootHorses at UMKC, Jane/Olga in MLRT's The Women (postponed due to COVID-19), lead roles in two murder mysteries written by Airen Neeley Chaconas, and voice acting work within the Homestead on the Corner universe.
