Whenever I assign homework during the week it is due the very next day. If you have not sent in your child’s info. sheets to me please do that as soon as possible. I will send home notes beginning Tuesday if I have anything missing from you. Instructions for the AL History Scavenger Hunt are coming home today. Read over them and let me know if you have any questions. My website is up and running. I hope you’ve had a chance to take a look. I will be adding projects and updating it weekly. Important: Make sure you are reading for your AR tests. They may begin taking their AR tests in October. We are trying to get our date moved up. I will let you know if moving it up is possible. Until then, keep reading. Remember, you have 3 AR tests to take by the end of the 1st 9 weeks. In other words, you will need to read 3 chapter books on your level. That is not including the one you must take for your book report. We will take our STAR test to get our book level as soon as I get the ok that we can take it. Email me about concerns or questions. Book Reports: I am sending home information today about your book reports. Your child must complete one book report every 9 weeks. Please help your child choose a date he/she would like to do their project in class for this 9 weeks. I need to get this date and what book they’d like to do it on by August 21st. Their book report book must be a chapter book. Don’t stress about having to read to 2 chapter books at the same time, 1 for AR and the other for your book report! You may do your book report on a book you read over the summer, as long as I approve it first. I have enrolled our class in the Pearson SuccessNet online. Here the students will take tests on their story of the week and unit tests. I am sending your child’s username and password so that you can follow along with their progress. Also included are the directions you will use to access this information. Let me know if you have any questions. My daily schedule has changed a few times this week because of electives being rescheduled. I will include our daily schedule with next week’s newsletter. I wanted to run through a week with our times before it was set in stone. If you have not signed up for Remind101, I strongly suggest you try to sign up. It is not a requirement, but it will help with classroom reminders. Let me know if you need instructions again.
